UNIT 5: MY COLOURS Lesson 5

I Objectives

- By the end of this unit, pupils can say, recognize, and write the letters Jj and Kk - Pupils can develop fine motor control

II Procedures

*Warm up: Review the names of the characters with the flashcards. A Presentation

1 Learn the letter

Step 1: Say Jig, jump, kick and kite Pupils repeat the words. Step 2: Write them on the board and read aloud the words Step 3: Have pupils repeat the letter word and letter sound. Step 4: Tell pupils to practice.

B Practice

2 Sing

Step 1: Play the CD Tell pupils to listen to the song.

Step 2: Play the CD again and pause after each line Sing the line and tell pupils to repeat after teacher

Step 3: Play CD again and ask pupils to sing the song. C Production

3 Find

Step 1: Tell pupils to find the letter j and k in the alphabet. Step 2: Tell pupils to look at the bottom of the page 32.

1 Look and say

Step 1: Repeat for all the characters in the story.

Step 2: Say Point to picture and check comprehension.

Step 3: Ask pupils questions about the story in their own language. B Practice

2 Listen

Step 1: Play the CD and pause between each frame.

Step 2: Ask pupils to tell you in their own language what they understood Step 3: Play CD again.

C Production

3 Listen and act

Step 1: Play the CD and pause between each frame.

Step 2: Tell the class that they are going to act out the story. Step 3: Ask other groups to act out the story.
