Aims and objectives : * Language content : To introduce the structures relating to time of daily activities. To introduce the questions and answers about the time. * Language function: To help the students to aks for and say the time and the time of daily activities. * Educational aim: To make the students a ware of the scientific arrangement in daily activities. 1. Language : a.Vocabulary: o’clock- quarter – half – past - to b.Structures: What time is it? It’s nine o’clock. What time do you get up? I get up at six o’clock 2. Skills : Speaking – Listening - Reading - Writing 3. Educational factor : Ss can talk about the time of daily activities. II. Teacher’s and students’ preparation : 1. Method: Communicative approach: 2. Techniques:explanation – repetition – real object – pair work 3. Material needed:pictures – real object 4. Students’ preparation:look up the new words, collecting pictures. 5. Previous exercises: III. PROCEDURES IN CLASS : 1. Stabilization: 2 minutes a.Warm–up:greeting b.Checking absence:asking about the absent students 2. Lead - in - Sets the situation: shows the clock and asks the Ss “ what is this ? - Yes, you can know about the time with a clock. - Presents the new lesson: Uses the picture in the textbook to present the conversation. - Has the Ss repeat the conversation in groups. II. Pre-Practice -Plays the tape twice. - Teaches the new words and structures in turn, using the principles and steps of teaching words. * Notes: + what time is it? It is …. o’clock + at (pre) + half ( drawing) -Checks understanding of the new words and structure: “ what and where”. III. While - Practice -Plays the tape again. - Directs the Ss to practice speaking the conversation in the - Listen and speak in individual. - Focus on the picture to guess the information. - Repeat in groups. - Listen to the tape. - Focus on the teacher’s explanation and write down. - Play the game. - Listen to the tape. - Practice speaking in groups or in pairs. - read it carefully. Post -Practice - Ask the Ss to read the question 7 on page 51 carefully to find the answers. - Directs the Ss to practice speaking the questions and answers in pairs. - Has some pairs of Ss ask and answer about their own daily activities before the class. V. Consolidation - Summarizes the content of the lesson and gives the Ss the part “ remember”. - Individual answer. - Scan the questions to find and write answers out. - Pairwork. - Freepair speaking. - Listen to the teacher Remember : +What time is it ?
