Aims and objectives : * Language content: To teach the students the way to greet in a formal way, the way to count some cardinal numbers and how to say good bye, ask So / s health and the way to answer * Language function: To help them to speak more fluently, about the greetings for each period of a day. * Educational aim: To enable the students to know to greet to one another when meeting, and know to ask about So / s health. 1. Language : a.Vocabulary: Morning, afternoon, evening, night, children, Mom. b.Structures: Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. How are you? We / re fine, thank you. 2. Skills : Speaking – Listening - Reading - Writing Educational factor : Good morning / afternoon teacher I. Asking their teacher, their friends / health II. II. Teacher’s and students’ preparation : 1. Method : Communicative Approach 2. Techniques:Repration, explanation- pair work, group work. 3. Material needed:Text book, cassette, picture 4. Students’ preparation:Prepare the new words. 5. Previous exercises:Count some things in the house, class, ask SO / s health III. PROCEDURES IN CLASS : 1. Stabilization: (2 minutes ) a.Warm–up:greetings b. Checking absence: Asks the monitor who / s absent. 2. Lead in: -Ask the students to remind some sentences of greetings -Shows the pictures in B 2 (on page 15) -Ask the students which period of a day. -Introduces the new lesson. II. Pre-practice -Introduces the new words /phrases: + morning (n) + afternoon (n) + everning (n) + night (n) + children (n) + mom (AE) + mum (B E) - Checks understanding of the new words : “ slap the board” -Shows the pictures and ask the students periods of a day. -Introduces some greetings in a formal way. III. While - Practice: -Plays the tape ( B1,2) -Asks the students to listen to the tape without looking at the books and repeat. -Asks the students work in pairs. - Shows the pictures on the board and asks the Ss to read sentences correct spondent with the pictures. - Remind : Hi,Hello - Look at the pictures and answer. - Listen, look at and take notes - Focus on the teacher’s explanation and write down. - Play the game “ slap the board”. - Look at the pictures and say about periods of a day - Listen to the teacher. - Listen to the tape. - Listen to the tape and repeat. - Work in pairs. - Read the greetings. UNIT: 1 GREETINGS Period : 5 LESSON: B GOOD MORNING (1, 2, 3) I. Content: +Greetings for each period of a day. -Good morning -Good afternoon -Good evening Good night (a way to say good bye at night ). II. IV. Post - Practice - Asks the Ss to work in pairs, roles play, read the dialogue a,b. V. Consolidation - Reminds the greetings - Practice before the class. - Look at and listen to the teacher. - Listen and predict. - Say for situation and time. - Work in pairs. - Practice before the class and take notes. - Work in pairs. - Listen and remember Lan: Good afternoon Nga Nga: Good afternoon Lan Lan: How are you?
