UNIT 11: BOOKS B: SPEAKING I AIMS/OBJECTIVES OF THE LESSON Language focus: To develop speaking skills on how to make small conversation To provide students with some new more words and phrases Skills: To help Ss develop their speaking skills Attitudes: To encourage Ss work in pairs and groups II PREPARATION Teacher: - Teaching aids: Lesson plan, text book - Teaching method: Communicative language teaching Students: Read Unit 11 – speaking at home III PROCEDURE Class organization (1 minute) Check – up (5 minutes) - Some students read and write down new words and phrases - Some students translate the reading passage into Vietnamese New lesson (35 minutes) STUDENTS’ ACTIVITIES TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES Task Task - Work in pairs, complete and then practice conversation - Instructs Ss to answer the question + What sort/kind of books you like reading? - Asks some pairs of Ss to present + How you often read books? + When you often read books?
