Week 29 Preparing: 01 / 4 /2010 Period 84 Teaching: Tue, April 03 nd , 2010 Unit 14: MAKING PLANS. Lesson 4: B3 + 4 ( p144 - 145 ) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer about their projects with “ be going to” and write their own plans / intention for their weekend. II. Language content: 1. Vocabulary: Jurassic Park, I don’t know. 2. Grammar: Review The future plan / immediate future: “ be going to …” III. Teaching aids: flipchart, textbook, pictures, cassette. IV. Procedures: 1. Greeting and chatting: ( 2’ ) What’s the weather like today? ( it’s very hot ) What do you do when it’s hot? (When it’s hot I go swimming ) 2. Presentation: - New word:(2’) T presents and elicits the meanings. Ss give the meanings & repeat the words. ( He’s going to see ) Jurassic Park ) - Review: ( 3’) ( T asks Ss to review the Future plans with “ be going to” by answering the question): Ss repeat the model sentences. Use: Hỏi - đáp về dự định cho ngày cuối tuần. * Note: Đối với các động từ chỉ sự di chuyển như go, come,… ta thường dùng thì hiện tại tiếp diễn thay vì dùng cấu trúc BE GOING TO mà chức năng diễn đạt nghĩa vẫn không đổi. Thay vì: I am going to go fishing on Sunday morning. Ta viết: I am going fishing on Sunday morning. 4. Practice: * Pairwork and roleplay: (4’) Ask Ss to work in pairs to make the dialogues using the completed table above S1: What are you going to do on the weekend? S2: I’m going to have a picnic. What about you? S1: I’m going to do aerobics. * Picture Drill: ( 5’) Ask one student to ask the question: What are you going to do on the weekend? ( T answers ) T: On Saturday morning, I’m going to do the housework. On Saturday afternoon, I’m going to have a picnic. On Saturday evening, I’m going to see a movie. On Sunday morning,… What about you? Pairwork and roleplay:Ask Ss to make their own dialogues with “ Saturday (morning/ afternoon/ evening ), Sunday ( morning/ afternoon/ evening ) using some pictures of sports and activities. What are you going to do on the weekend? On Saturday morning, I’m going to play soccer On Saturday afternoon, …… On Saturday evening, … On Sunday morning ( afternoon,… ),…. What about you? On Saturday morning, I’m going swimming do / housework see / movie,… 5. Production: Writing (Real life Drill) (5’) Ss each writes own sentences about himself/ herself individually. ( Some Ss write on Ss’ boards. Others write in notebooks ) Eg: On Saturday morning, I am going to play soccer. On Saturday afternoon, I’m going to . Some Ss read their sentences loud before the class. Feedback. Correct Ss’ writing. ( 3’ ) Transformation ( If there is enough time ): ( 1’ ) Ask one student to change her friend’s corrected writing on the board. Ex: S1: On Saturday morning, I am going to play soccer. Remark and homework: ( 3’ ) - Pay Ss’ attention to the usage of immediate future once more. Ask them to learn the structures by heart. Write the sentences in notebooks at home. - Do exercise B 3 p116 ( workbook). Prepare Unit 14 -B5 +B 6 p145 - 146( text book ). - T gives remark of the period.  .
