The meaning of Art Director varies depending on the medium or the organization However, in general, Art Director usually means the job of supervising a team and its visual creations Art Director is a role that can be found in all kinds of visual work, such as theatre, publishing, fashion, film or advertising Despite the name, an Art Director is not necessarily in charge of a department, but nevertheless primarily responsible for the visual part What they do? The tasks of an Art Director, as mentioned, can varied from organizations to organizations, but the core missions remain the same It is to inspire and guide the design team to a suitable thematic visual presentation of their designs To be more specific, an Art Director is usually in charge of: Research | Managing a team consisting of junior designers, production artists or other similar positions and making sure that they work effectively and in unison This normally means keeping track of the team members, their work, deadlines and sometimes the budget Guarantee that the design or product has a suitable visualization matching the subject portrayed and the targeted audience This involves researching all the required information and checking if the design is ready for release In short, the Art Director is the one with overall quality control Working (directly) with others, such as copywriters, set designers or editors, depending on the field of work For example, an Art Director will have to work with a copywriter, forming a creative team The former will be in charge of the visual content so that it is suitable with the textual content In smaller organizations, the Art Director is also responsible for other roles, such as the task of printing and other productions Research | about GRAPHIC DESIGNER What is a Graphic Designer? The definition of a graphic designer is a person who use images, colors, typography, symbols and so on to create a visual communication device, or a design They are the backbone of the design industry, since their job is to visualize and deliver the message to audiences through their products What they do? Graphic Design nowadays includes lots of different occupations on many different aspects They can work in the game industry, marketing, advertising, fashion and so on There are, however, common roles that a Graphic Designer must fill Because their mission is to create compressed yet understandable messages and informations to deliver to their clients and audience for many purposes, like to raise awareness, proposing ideas or advertising, Graphic Designer’s roles mandatorily include: Research | Executing and express the idea given by their clients or managers This usually means that they have to work with different materials and techniques, both traditionally and digitally Researching the client’s needs and requirements as well as the target audience Producing sketches and prototypes Graphic Designers usually submit their work to their clients for approval, if unaccepted then they will adjust it This sometimes involve creating physical prototypes if there is no other production departments Research | about STYLIST What is a Stylist? The simplest description of a Stylist is the person who creates styles They selects the clothing for published editorial features, print or television advertising campaigns, music videos, concert performances, and any public appearances made by celebrities, models or other public figures If a designer creates outfits then a Stylist is the one who enchants the spirit into these outfits through skillful combinations What they do?
