1 INTRODUCTION
For me, practice teaching is a course that enables the student-teachers to experience theactual teaching-learning process in the actual schoolenvironment It is a training groundfor students to be wherein I apply all my learnings since I studied at school Practiceteaching also gives opportunities to student-teachers to experience handling of studentsand knowing the individual differences of learners It is wherein I analyze what strategyand methods to use for the students in the future
I have experienced everything a professional teacher gets through in my PracticeTeaching, such as preparing lesson plans, reviewing all lessons, using someBloom’s Taxonomy Action Verbs to make leson plan, historicial Approach overview, sharing many experiences form my instructor by teaching videos that she sent to me.Also, in my experience, I am fortunate to have enjoyed the support and tutelage of myCoordinating Teacher, Mrs Nguyen Anh Quan After having my Practice Teaching foralmost three months, I learned more experience such as join the real class and havemicroteaching and in this reflection paper, I would like to discuss the lessons drawn fromthe class observation, making lesson plan, my peers’ and microteaching Then, I would
Trang 4also mention a few suggestions for improvements to the courses at faculty of Englishlinguistics and literature.
2 LESSONS LEARNED FROM THE TEACHING PRACTICE
ACTIVITIES
First of all, I have learned how to teach English well and known more some classroommanagements since I joined the class observation It was a basic knowledge for me toprepare my the lesson plan and microteaching The observed lecturers had a clear andeffective plan, and sometimes very creative activities for their lessons After observingfour classes, I had an overview of how to work with a class of level B2, what methodsare appropriate and so on to come up with my own plan, methods, and techniques forteaching I was very excited about this time Therefore, I feel that the observation period
is significant for me to have a prior look at the job of a teacher get myself ready for it.Then, the observation of peers’ microteaching has brought me numerous interestingand valuable lessons I have learned different criteria to evaluate one’s microteaching andhow to improve myself through their shortcomings I learned a lot of things from myinstructor There will be a lot of unexpected situations going on during the teachingprocess It will be a long and chalenging journey for me to turn from a student to a goodteacher When I taught microteaching, however, I also had a lot of mistakes But, Ialways tried more to get good things
3 SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE COURSES AT FACULTY
OF ENGLISH LINGUISTICS AND LITERATURE
During teaching practice activities, My group and I also had sometroubles such as unclear schedule, so we don’t have much time topractice and do that perfectly. This intership is only organized for collegeand univeristy students Therefore, If we have more chances to teach insecondary or high school, we will get more real experiences. When weworked together, however the time was short, I had deep understanding
Trang 5about my menbers in group They are very friendly and helpful.
