UNIT 12: MUSIC Period 73: Reading I OBJECTIVES Knowledges: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to - Guess meaning in the context - Scan for specifics informations - New words: Words related to music Skills: - Improve passage comprehension skill - Reading for specifics information - Speaking: Talk in pairs and express their opinion Attitude: Active to broaden and percept the knowledge II FOCUS - To help Ss scan for specific information about music - To help them improve reading skill - The vocans related to Music III PREPARATIONS Method: Reading skills (skimming and scanning), asking and answering Teaching aids: Teacher’s book, textbook, chalk, black board, handout, picture, audio IV PROCEDURES Organization: - Hi! How are you today? - Who’s absent today? - What’s the date today? The new lesson: Content Teacher and students’ activities I Warm-up: - Playing game: Guessing game Songs: The Man I Love – Billie Holiday I Lay My Love On You – Westlife Gửi Về Quan Họ Moonlight Sonata – Beethoven - T says: “Before we start to learn, I would like to give you a game The rule of the game is I will play some pieces of music and your duty is guessing what kinds of music are they If you have right answer, you will get the candy from me Are you ready for the game?” - T lets Ss play this game Đường Đến Ngày Vinh Quang – Bức Tường The sample answers: jazz pop music folk music - Questions: classical music rock 'n' roll + Do you like listening to music? In your opinion, which of the roles of music is the most important?
