Chapter IntroductiontoCostandManagementAccounting in a Global Business Environment Questions Financial accounting focuses on the needs of external users (stockholders, creditors, etc.) and is dedicated to processing information about historical, monetary transactions Costaccounting is a subset of both financial andmanagerialaccounting It provides information on product/service cost that is used on the balance sheet and income statement Managerialaccounting focuses on the information needs of an organization’s internal managers, needs that are related to the planning, controlling, and
