UNIT 1: Home life PERIOD: 3 READING  Objective: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: + Comprehense the passage. + Learn and use new vocabulary. + Tell something about their family.  Lexical items: Take the responsibility for (exp); join hands (v); be under (n); pressure (exp); close – knit (adj); obedient (adj); mischievous (adj).  Skill: Reading, speaking, listening, writing.  Teaching aids: Text book, card, handouts PROCEDURE I. PRE - READING  Warmer (5’): - T have Ss fill in an open saying. “Man____________the house, woman make it_______” - (Build____home). - T ask Ss + Do you agree voith this saying why or why not? - For more clear reason, let’s choose the nearest meaning to the saying. - Give handouts to the Ss. “Man build the house, woman make it home” A. Both men and women are good at building houses. B. Men and women have to live separately C. Men’s responsibility is to work and support the family and women’s job is to look after the family. - It takes Ss 1 min to choose the best answer. - T check the answers. Expected answer.  lead - in: To know more about the family. Let’s read the passage of Unit 1. Task 2: Reading for specific information. - T divides the class into 2 groups. - Ss study the tables given & fill in the table the missing information.
