Ngôi thứ nhất thuộc về người nói, ngôi thứ hai thuộc về người nghe, ngôi thứ ba thuộc về người hoặc con vật hoặc đồ vật mà người nói và người nghe đề cập tới. Đại từ nhân xưng được làm chủ ngữ nên có thể nói chúng là đại từ chủ ngữ. Ngôi thứ nhất số ít : I ( tôi) Ex: I read book ( Tôi đọc sách) Ngôi thứ nhất số nhiều: We ( chúng tôi ) Ex: We are young ( Chúng tôi còn trẻ) Ngôi thứ hai số ít : You ( anh, chị, ...) Ex: You and I ( Bạn và tôi ) Ngôi thứ hai số nhiều: You ( các bạn, các bác, các ông, ...)
