-To heap ss read a text about UFOs for details to complete the notes,review

conditional sentence and modal verbs with may and might

-By the end of the lesson, students will be to know more about UFOs,know the use

of may and might

III/Teaching aids

1.Warm up

-Ask ss some qs about the UFOs

-Practice doing part getting started

2.Pre teach vocabulary

-(a)spacecraft : tàu vũ trụ (picture)

- (a)meteor :sao băng (picture)

- evidence (n): bằng chứng (situation)

- (an)alien : ngời ở hành tinh khác (definition)

- (to)capture: bắt = catch (SYN )

- (a)device : dụng cụ thiết bị (translation)

3.Pre listen and read

T : to day we are going to read a text about UFOs for details to complete the notes T: Show the pictures on page 83 to the students and ask them some questions about UFOs

1 What can you see in the pictures?

2 What do we call them in Vietnamese?

3 Do you know another word for UFOs?

4 Do you think they really exist?

5 Have you ever seen any films on UFOs ?

4.While listen and read

- T: -Asks students to read the text and find the words in the text that have the meanings givenwords in the text that have the meanings given in *2 on page 84 Ss; Read and do exercise

* Answer keys:

1 proof, support = evidence

2 falling star or shooting star = meteor

3 unknown/ strange people or thing= aliens

4 bringing together or gathering= collecting

5 caught as a prisoner = captured

6 became impossible to see = disappeared

* Complete the notes.

T; Get Ss to do Ex 2b on page 84 then read the text again and coplete the notes Ss: work individually

-To help ss listen for details to complete a table and further practice in modal verbs-may ,might And practice speaking about Mars

*Skill: -Main skills: Speak and listen

-Other skills: Read and write

II/The objective of the lesson

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to know more about the moon by listening and relative pronouns who –which-that.And they can talk to another about what they think there might be on mars, on the moon on other planets

Text book,radio,tape,poster

-Read and translate into Vnese

-Read by heart the note

T: In this period we learn how to write an exposition about the existence of

UFOs

* Matching

Asks Ss to do Ex 6a on page 88 – Have Ss read the outline of an exposition in column A and put the paragraphs in column B in order to match the sections in A Ss: Put the parts in the correct order

5.While writing

• T: Asks Ss to write individually to friend and then share compare with their partners

“ I believe UFOs exist because articles and reports in newspapers talked a lot about their appearance

First, many people from different countries reported that once saw flying saucers Second, there are many photos of flying saucers and some of the photographers said they saw man – like creatures get out of thr saucers

Moreover, people are discussing the mysterious circles on the fields in the

countryside of Great Britain

So I think UFOs are not human’s imagination They are real; and we should be ready to welcome their visits.”
