The Nippon Steel Shipping Co., Ltd Ship's name : M.S NSS BONANZA Port of : Date of: THE HAND OVER REPORT ( For the Rank : BOSUN ) I/ DUTY : Daily work - All is following C/O order - At morning time (0730 ST) meet C/O at Bridge for taking , talking & advising working order (Every day) - At afternoon before finished daily work (1650 ST) meet C/O at Bridge report working progress taking & advise each other : Daily working time Tea time 10:00 – 10:30 h  Morning 08:00 – 12:00 h 15:00 – 15:30 h  Afternoon 13:00 – 17:00 h When ship's berthed * Loading port: - Bosun will maintenance jobs by himself - If need assistant Required C/O or duty officer * Discharging port: At the discharging port , there is only AB keep watch on deck so, daywork team will join with bosun MUSTER LIST–EMERGERCY STATION A ABANDON STATION - Preparing for lowering life boat - Carry sea knife & other tools for lowering life boat B FIRE FIGHTING STATION - Carry fire man’s outfits life line C FLOADING STATOIN - Carry axes, hand hammer & torch A RESCUE BOAT STATION - Employ lowering rescue boat & operate boat - Boatswain must operate winch of boat D EMERGENCY STEERING STATION -1- - Emergency steering & prepare gyro repeater E OIL SPILL STATION - Confirm closing of discharging out let F COLLISION STATION - Preparation for pumping operation, fire fighting & oil spill operation B GROUNDING STATION - Preparation for damage check & pumping operation Closing deck Openings THE END Ship's along side: -2- When maneuvering, bosun and daywork team always standby at the forward station before berthing, it's necessary to prepare some tools as follow: - Heaving line ; stopper rope; towing rope; micro/speaker - Check all equipment whether it's in good operation condition - How to turn on/off winch: + Firstly, opening the G.S valves (consists of valves: big black valve at the right conner and green valves at the center of the bosun store which placed nearly the motor After completed opening the valves, report to the duty officer (ship's office) who will switch on the G.S pump After switching on the G.S pump start the No.2 motor & wait for stabilizer of voltage then, start the No.1 motor + For switching off , it will be done by opposite procedures switch off No.1 firstly then , No.2 Note: When starting the motors , the jack control stands must be At the "STOP" position - Check the winch - Test all of winches whether it's normal working condition or not? If it's good, report to C/O - During maneuvering time , all orders are given by C/O and everyone is under C/O order - Bosun always operate winches When finishing maneuvering, all tools must be secured in the Bosun store - Standby everything for PSC ( port state control ) inspection if C/O order  Leaving a port: - All of preparation jobs are same the ship along side jobs - When ship's sailing , the anchors must be lashed, the pipes of chain must be covered by blue canvat covers - Stowing back all scuppers plus on deck - Check everything on deck: close all ventilators of hatch cover, scape hatch, voice space, ballast ventilator - All electric box on deck, outside accommodation ladders must be tighten up by lashing - Close all tight doors when the ship's sailing with cargo  Standby anchor (drop and heaving ) -3- - Relashing the anchor Take out the spipes cover, including canvat and steel covers S/B speaker, micro, anchor ball Check the windlass ( out gear when checking windlass ), if it's good condition report to C/O - When dropping anchor always under C/O's order and must be take care - When stop dropping anchor, the break must be make tight then report to C/O how many shackle on deck - When finished dropping anchor, anchor ball must be up position + Heaving anchor: - Everything standby for heaving anchor is same dropping anchor - After finished heaving anchor, make tight break, anchor chain must be lashed, the spipes of chain must be covered by steel covers II/ EQUIPMENT WINCH AND WINDLASS: There are winches and windlasses on the forward station, they are: - Headline's winch starboard side - Headline's winch port side - Break line's winch - Spring line's winch - Windlasses for port and stb side  How to operate + In the fore deck store (bosun store), there are hydrolic pumping motor which be called No.1 and No.2 motor The operation procedures as follows: - First, open the G.S valves ( consists of valves : big black valve at the right conner and green valves at the center of the store and be placed nearly the motors - After valves was opened, report to duty officer (ship's office ) who will switch on G.S pump - After G.S pump's switched on, start No.2 motor and wait about 5-7 seconds for stabilizer voltage then , start No.1 motor Note: When starting the motor, the jack control stand must be at "STOP" position - Before using the winch or windlass, have to check it's operation condition - When checking winch or windlass, the gear must be at the "GEAR -4- OUT" position - When using the winch or windlass for maneuvering , bosun have to control the jack control stand under C/O's order - The winch and windlass at the forward station are in good condition - All equipment or tools for berthing, leaving works are in the bosun store + The winch at the aft-station: - There are hydrolic pumps in the steering room for aft-station(No.1 and No.2) - When starting No.1 hydrolic pump only then , can use break line's winch or s-side stern line's winch - When starting No.2 hydrolic pump only then , can operate spring line's winch or p-side stern line's winch - When starting No.1 and No.2 together then, can operate stern's winch, break's winch, spring's winch together LADDERS:  Pilot ladders: There are two pilot ladders for p-side and s-side (between No.6 and No.7 hatch) Standby pilot ladder procedures as follows: - Switch on power supply in mid-ship store - Relashing the pilot ladder - S/B life buoy, light(if night time), man rope, stanchion, etc…all of them be placed in the mid-ship store - When working outside of handrail , you have to wear the life jacket Note: When dry draft is under 9m, use jacob ladder only  Gangway: there are two gangways and wharf ladders for both side + Gangway S/B procedures as follows: - Switch on power supply at control box in side accommodation - Relashing, S/B man rope, stanchion, safety net including gangway and wharf ladder,etc… all of them are puted in the deck store When ship's sailing, pilot ladders and gangways must be tighten up by lashing wire or lashing rope CRANE:  G.U crane: there is a G.U crane for each side at life-boat deck They are used for bunkering, picking up something from shore side or for wharf ladders (up/down) The G.U cranes are in good condition (motors, control boxes); Switch on/off power supply in the electric equipment room that is in front of ship office  Trolley crane : used for supplying provisions or ship stores -5- - When using trolley cranes, you must be relashing the motors and the boom - Switch on power supply in the electric equipment room which is in front of ship office - If picking up something from shore side, you must be shift out the boom by control box on the crane After used, you must be shift in the boom and lashing including the motors STORES: consists of: bosun store, mid-ship store , deck store and paint store Deck workshop - Bosun store(fore deck store): filled with every equipment and tools for forward station maneuvering works - Mid ship store: filled with every equipment and tools for pilot ladders and deck works - Deck store and work shop inside accommodation: filled with everything for gangway and deck works - Paint store: filled all paint tools, paint equipment and paints All stores always tidy up and use to be clean The paint brushes must be cleaned after used OPENNING AND CLOSING HATCH COVER ( Instruction put in ship office ) Rescue boat station , fire extinguishing station , emergency steering, abandon ship,etc… follow the muster list Note: - Every time, bosun always check all equipment, tools and report to C/O - The winches, windlasses, pilot ladders, gangways, hatch covers always checked and grease up - Always apply gear compound for the winches and check operation condition - Every tools for works always clean and tidy up THE END -6-
