Objectives : - By the end of this lesson, students will be able to greet and self – introduce. - Develop speaking skill. II. Teaching aids : - Teacher’s aids: student’s and teacher’s book, word cards, pictures, tape, cassette, puppets. - Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. IV. Languages focus : - Phonics: Hi/ Hello. - Vocabulary: hi, hello - Structures: Hello. I’m Mai. / Hi, Mai. V/ Procedure: Teacher’s activities Student’s activities 1. Warm up. (5’) - Greetings. Say Hello ( encourage ps to answer with Hello). - Repeat the procedure several times. - Introuce yourself to the class by pointing to yourself and say: I’m Miss Tham. - Itroduce new lesson. 2. Look, listen and repeat.(13’) - Ask ss look at the picture and listen to the dialogue in their books. - Tell them that they are going to practise introducing themselves and responding to the introduction( vietnamese). - Point to the P1 and Ask ps look at the text in speech bubbles. - Play the recording for ps listen - Ask them repeat a few times. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Play the recording through. - Practice with ps. - Devide the class into 2 groups. Let’s chant(12’) -Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen - Call on a group of six: three of them to repeat each line of the chant, other three clap the syllables - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary/ correct typical pronunciation errors. - Make a few questions to check Ss’ comprehension of language 5. (3’) -Greet and introduce oneself -Look at the words hello, bye and notice the letter coloured differently in both words. - Listen and repeat - Listen -write the words they hear -Compare with their parners -Read the chant in the books - Practice the chant in groups and clap the syllables. - Recite the chant.
