Week 21 Period 37 UNIT 3 LET’S SING Date of teaching: Wednesday, January 19 th 2011 I.Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to introduce friends and suggest an activity. II.Teaching aids: -Teacher cards (17 – 32, commands), colors squares, wall chart, tape recorder. III.Procedures: Time Teacher’s activities Students’ activities I. WARM UP: Find your partner ( Teacher’s book, page 15) - Give each st a color square. Ask them to find out the same color of their friend and then practise greeting. II. PRESENTATION: 1. Present the first part of the dialogue: - Model the first part of the dialogue with 02 volunteer sts. T: (nod with S 1 ) Hi, (Ken). T: (point to S 2 ) This is my friend, (Mary). 2. Present the complete dialogue: - Use 2 puppets to model the dialogue and 1 st plays the role of Sarah. P A (speak to P B ): Hi, (John). This is my friend, Sarah. - Take a color square and find. - Practise: S 1 : Hi, (John), How are you? S 2 : I’m fine. How are you? S 1 : I’m fine, thank you -Listen and repeat several times. - Practice. - Practice the dialogue in groups P B (speak to Sarah): Hello, Sarah. Sarah( speak to P B ) : Hi, John. All : Let’s play! III. OPEN YOUR BOOK: 1. Open your book to page 20: - Ask Ss to open their books to page 20. - Role play the dialogue. Kate: Hi, John.This is my friend, Sarah. John: Hello, Sarah. Sarah: Hi, John. All: Let’s play 2. Introduce the model: - Write the model on the board. - Divide the class into groups of 03 Ss and practise speaking using the model. This is my friend, Sarah. Hello, Sarah WORKBOOK: - Ask Ss to practise at home. - Open their books. - Look at the picture, identify characters’ names.
