Aims: - Helping ss review some main knowledge of class 7. - Giving students some tasks to do through out the school year. - Introducing some workbooks & tapes. II. Content: 1. Knowledge: - Present simple tense. S + V (s/es) + everyday, always, usually, - Furture simple tense S + be going to-V(inf) +tonight, tomorrow, next, soon, one day -Present progressive tense. S+ am/ is/ are + V-ing + now, at the moment/present, right now -Simple pass tense. S + Ved / V2 + yesterday, last, ago, in -Gerund ( V-ing ) : • enjoy, like, love, prefer, stop, mind, suggest, what/ how about -To –inf : • like, love, would like, want, need, forget, remember, -V + V(inf) • will, would, can, could, shall, should, ought to, have to, let, make, have 2. New books: (English 8) - Guiding ss some methods to prepare the lesson and how to learn this subject effectively. - Helping them choose some books and tapes that can help them a lot in the process of learning. 3. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to introduce people using simple present and simple past tense. II. Language contents: 1. Grammar: - Simple present and simple past tense (Revision). 2. Vocabulary: - Verbs : receive, seem. - Noun : smile.protograph, next-door neighbor a person who lives next to your house. III. Teaching aids: - Students’ & teacher’s books. - OHP & OHT. - Pictures. - Cassette & tape. Time : 45 minutes. IV. Procedure: Stage Teacher’s & students’ activities Content Activity 1 (Warm-up) Activity 2 (presentation) + Asking students to look at four pictures and talk about the activities they like to do after school or in their free time. + Giving students some questions. a) What are these students doing? b) Do you play soccer? c) Do you like reading books? d) What do you often do in your free time? + Practice in pairs (teacher – student; student – student). II. Language contents: 1. Grammar & Structure: a) Grammar: - Simple present tense (Revision). b) Structure: - Mary is thin. - She has long blond hair. 2. Vocabulary: - Adjectives : bold, blond, curly, fair, slim. III. Teaching aids: - Students’ & teacher’s books. - OHP & OHT. - Pictures. - Real situations. Time : 45 minutes. IV. Procedure: Stage Teacher’s & students’ activities Content Warm up Pre-speaking While-speaking + Asking students to describe body build and hair by using attributive and predicative adjectives. Explaining newwords. Showing students the photo of Mary and asking them to describe her hair and her body build. ♥ Describing one of the photos and asking students to guess which it is. ♥ Let students discuss and describe the people in the photos (a, b, c, d, e & f ). Speak 1. Practice the dialogue with a partner. 2. Now take turns to make similar dialogues by using the adjectives in the table. Example (a) S 1 : This person is tall and thin.
