Period 51 UNIT 8: CELEBRATIONS Lesson 3: Read I. Teaching points: Reading for details about children’s emotion on Father’s Day By the end of the lesson, Ss will know more about the options, feelings, and memories of children about their fathers on the Father’s Day in the USA and in Australia. II. Teaching aids: Text book, work book, ruler, chalk, board. Posters, pictures. III. Procedure: Teacher Students’ activities Content on the board Wa rm up Pelmanism Prepare 12 cards with numbers on one side; the dates (6 cards) / the Team work - Card 1: Women’s Day - Card 2: Teacher’s Day - Card 3: Vnamese Ind. Day - Card 4: 8/3 (March 8) celebrations (6 cards) on the other side. *Make sure the celebrations and the dates are mixed up. - Stick the cards on the board so Ss can only see the No -Devide class in to 2 teams and ask each team to choose 2 numbers in turns. - Turn over the cards at a time and see if they match. - Give feed back. Follow T's guidings; playing game in 2 teams - Card 5: 20/11 (Nvember 11) - Card 6: Children’s Day - Card 7: June 1 - Card 8: May Day - Card 9: 2/9 (September 2) - Card 10: Christmas Day - Card 11: December 25 -Ca rd 12: May  C1 - C4; C2 - C5; C3 - C9; C6 - C7; C8 - C12; C10 - C11 Pre- teach vocabulary Present new words in the lesson. - (Picture) - (translation) - (translation) - (translation) - (translation) Whole c lass Listen to T's elitciting and find out the words 1. Whole class Listen and take notes Group work Get ready to give the guess to the whole class. Group A Group B While Reading Read and check Get Ss to open the books on page 68, read the opinions and check their predictions Group work Get ready to read aloud the answers to the whole class. 2.Listening 2.1. checking; strong great  generous  healthy considerate  the best  - Call on Ss to give answers - Give feddback.
