Lesson plan 9 2009 - 2010 Unit 9 : NATURAL DISASTERS Week 29 Period 57 – WRITE I . Objectives - By the end of the lesson , Sts will be able to write a story about the tyohoon, using the words given and the pictures. 1 Language contents: a.Vocab : keep + ving , shelter It is sunny b. Grammar: The past tens, II. Preparations : 1/ Techniques: Brainstorming , pairwork, groupwork, chatting 2/ Teaching aids: text book, poster,flashcards III. Procedures: Activities Contents 1. Warm up(5ms) H ave Ss work in 2 groups 2. Pre – writing(20ms) Pre – teach newwords T: explan the words by some menthods - review the structure * Quiz: a. What animals are they? - These animals begin with letter . - Move another place where is higher and safer, carry their foods and eggs. * Ants b. - these animals begin with letter B. - It is used to plow the field. - It was chosen tobe the logo of seagame 2003. * Buffalo c. What animal is this? - It keeps barking and running in circles. - It keeps your house and something * dog  Chatting: a.What is the weather like today ? b. While – writing(15ms) Ask Sts to write in groups . Each group writes 3 pictures Ask Sts to hang the flashcards on the board -We use past simple tense to write a story . It often has three parts : introduction / body / conclusion * Chatting: Picture 1 a. What do you see in the first picture ? b. Who is she ? What is she doing ? c. What is the weather like ? Picture 2 : a. What is wrong with the dog ? b. Is she behaving strangely ? c. What is going to happen ? Picture 3 : a. Who is in the picture with Lan ? b. What does she say ? Picture 4 : a. What is happening ? b. Where are Lan 's family members ? Picture 5 : a. Is the wind strong? b. What is the weather like ? Picture 6 : a. What do you see in the picture ? b. What are Lan and her parents doing now ? c. Does the weather become good again ? * Prediction: Tell some details the story from the pictures Eg : The weather was very beautiful Lan was playing in the yard with her dog */ Suggested writing It was a beautiful day . The sun was shining and the sky was blue . The weather was perfect Lan was playing outside with her dog , Skippy. All of a sudden , the dog behaved strangely . She kept running around in circles . Lan ran home with her dog to tell her mother what Skippy was doing . Lan’s mother – Mrs. Quyen told Lan that she heard on TV that there was a typhoon coming . Mrs. Quyen gathered her family and told them to find a shelter in the home . Suddenly the sky became very dark . The Storm came with strong wind and heavy rain .
