My internship started from February 22 to April 18 at Hoa Binh 1 Hotel and Restaurant In previous semesters, I have studied the restaurant profession, so I have been equipped with some basic knowledge of the restaurant industry, which helps me to apply in real work this time My main work is as a waitress and I usually serve weddings, conferences, dining room, buffet, breakfast and coffee But on days without weddings or conferences, I mostly work at buffet, breakfast and coffee The places I normally work are at the large restaurant, the first floor, second floor and eighth floor restaurant At Hoa Binh 1 Hotel and Restaurant, the internship has two main work shifts: morning shift (from 6 am to 2 pm and includes the buffet at the eighth floor restaurant) and afternoon shift (from 2 pm
to 10 pm) So, I work one shift per week
Hoa Binh 1 Hotel and Restaurant has a modern design, spacious space, quality service and professional service, which is a suitable place On the first day, I started working, I was surprised because I had to serve a wedding party of about 23 tables But with the enthusiastic guidance from the staff and the job is also quite easy, I finished the job that day To have a complete wedding party, the restaurant must prepare step by step Firstly, I arranged the tables and chairs neatly to make sure there are enough seats for each table Secondly, I set up the dining table such as cups, plates, spoons, chopsticks, and napkins with the model given by the manager These must be in the correct position and seat of the customer To make the table more beautiful, the restaurant was decorated with the vases and I brought and placed them in the middle of the table After that, I put the menu on each table Each wedding party has a different menu, each menu has its sauce I looked at what the menu consisted of and prepared the appropriate sauces for those dishes After preparing, I put that sauce on the table first In the time of waiting the party began, I prepared the waiting table, normally each party had 2 or 3 waiting tables and it was placed near the waitress for more convenience during the service when the guests requested A waiting table includes cups, plates, spoons, chopsticks, glasses and sauces I also set beverages
