A data set of Vietnamese-English CS was collected from conversations among Vietnamese interlocutors in five episodes from season of the show lasting for 697.55 minutes The findings of this research provide light on how frequently and which patterns Vietnamese speakers applied codeswitching in their conversations on a TV show It was found that the speakers employed, on average, a CS instance in every 26 seconds The token with the highest rate of repetition was that of a tag switch “okay” In general, intrasentential switching was the most utilised compared to other categories while intersentential was the least In terms of intrasentential CS, word- and noun-related switches were the most popular, and those with acronyms and abbreviations were scarce, yet, noticeable Intersentential CS mostly covered a full utterance of the speaker and was often in the form of incomplete sentences In the Exception category, Vietnamese speakers mostly switched to English in complete sentences and produced English-like words when talking with non-Vietnamese people Some implications based on this study‟s findings for linguists, media personnel, policymakers in the cultural and art industry, and technology developers will also be mentioned ii ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS First and foremost, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Dr Ngo Le Hoang Phuong, my dedicated
