Write C (countable) or U (uncountable) (p 51) - Ask Ss to read the instruction - Tell Ss what they should (With a weaker class, the first sentence as an example) - Teacher has students complete the underlined activity individually - Teacher then asks students to swap their textbooks to check their classmates’ answers - Teacher checks and gives feedback - Answer keys: –C 2–U 4–C 3–U 5–U Task 2: Choose the correct option for each sentences: - Ask Ss to read the instruction - Tell Ss what they should (With a weaker class, the first sentence as an example) - Teacher has students work on the exercise individually before they compare answers with each other - Check the answers as a class - Confirm the correct answers Answer keys: 1.A 2.A 3.A 4.B 5.A Task 3: Fill each blank with a, any, some, much or many: - Ask Ss to read the instruction - Tell Ss what they should - Teacher goes round and helps if needed - Check the answers as a class - Confirm the correct answers Answer keys: many, any, much, some, a Task 4: : Fill each blank with must and mustn’t - Ask Ss to read the instruction - Tell Ss what they should - Teacher has students work on the exercise individually before they compare answers with each other - Teacher gives feedback as a class discussion Answer keys: 1.must mustn’t 3.must mustn’t 5.must V Post stage: Aims: To give students speaking practice to use correctly grammar with must and mustn’t to make a set of rules to follow in school Task 5: Write some more rules for you and your classmates at school Teacher divides the class into groups of students - Teacher asks students to work in group and make at least classroom rules in minutes Teacher assigns the roles for each member by asking questions: + Who's leader? + Who are rules makers / Idea thinkers? + Who's a note taker? + Who's a presenter? - Go around to observe and offer help if necessary - Call some groups to practice in front of the class - Ask other Ss to give comments and correct any mistakes if possible Teacher gives complement or good mark to the group with suitable rules after getting suggestions/ comments from the class * Example: - We must raise our hands when we want to ask questions in classroom - We mustn't eat during lesson - We must be gentle with each other - Summarize the main points of the lesson - Ask Ss Write some more rules for you and your classmates at school • Homework: - Do exercises task in textbook (Unit 5) - Prepare for Unit 5- Lesson 4: Communication • Feedback:
