information given in the above analysis accurately reflects the company's business performance in terms of revenue, profit and expenses, which tend to increase in the past years, despite the great influence of the Covid-19 pandemic Based on the above data, we can see that the company's net revenue in 2021 increased by 3.559,87 million VND, equivalent to 20.78%, and in 2022, increased by 1,392,920 VND, equivalent to an increase of 6.73% Thus, the company's revenue tended to increase through the period of 2020-2022, and the growth rate tended to increase gradually This was a sign that the company was on a good track to business The cost of goods sold in 2021 increased by 11.5% compared to 2020 and the COGS growth rate was lower than the net revenue growth rate This showed that the company had saved sales and production costs However, in 2022, the rate of increase in COGS was not much different from the rate of net revenue growth because the market was increasingly competitive, so the company had to invest in more modern machinery, equipment and warehouses to help for doing business, consuming goods and improving product quality The company's gross profit target was increasing day by day However, the growth rate was not stable The company's leadership needs to come up with policies to promote the consumption of goods Sales expenses in 2021 increased by 33.37%, but by 2022, they sharply increased to 55.97% This proves that the company had expanded the construction scale to bring more products to customers and boosted the profits that the business would gain To discharge full financial obligations to the State of Vietnam, the company has fully implemented and increased over the years, such as in 2020 the corporate income taxes payable was 1.351,73 million VND, in 2021 it was 1.887,68 million VND, in 2022 it was 2.029,58 million VND 1.2 An overview of Marketing Department Duties of the Marketing Department: Building and developing brand image: building public CHAPTER 2: GENERAL INTRODUCTION ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROCESS I started my internship at V.C.P Vietnam Clean Power Joint Stock Company on November 10, 2022 until January 31, 2023 2.1 Tasks performed during the internship During my internship time at V.C.P Vietnam Clean Power JSC, I took the position of Marketing Department This is a great opportunity for me to learn more about the knowledge, experiences and skills needed for a marketing intern, as well as to familiarize myself with the working environment, working culture, and to build good relationships with colleagues Ms Tran Phuong Thao was my supervisor She provided me with a lot of information regarding her work 10 In particular, I was assigned the following tasks to apprentice during the internship such as: Observe experienced staff to gain experience and communicate with customers Write and reply to emails and letters from customers/ partners Take notes of the real process and the outstanding steps as well as fundamental mistakes that need to be seriously considered when communicating with customers Receive training and explanation from the instructor in the Marketing Department Read and translate materials Arrange and classify marketing documents Copy, print, fax, materials and scan signatures into the computer Making daily reports 2.1.1 Writing and replying to partners’ emails or letters This job requires regular communication with partners and foreign countries therefore the ability to write email replies in English is extremely necessary Email in English replies to partners can exchange information, and answer concerns and questions about the business Thereby, partners can feel the professionalism and thoughtfulness of the company These emails are about business inquiry letters, quotation letters, order letters or complaint letters, business contracts, product descriptions, etc 2.1.2 Making daily reports After a workday, each intern has to make their report using the company’s Google Drive sheet Each one will have an account to access and have their worksheet 11 in Excel for example to fill out their tasks This tool will help the supervisor or the manager, as well as the CEO easily to control the KPIs of each team and individual in the company 2.1.3 Translating As a student of the English faculty, it is indispensable to use English at work Compared with the other Department, translating in Marketing Department is quite often The translation is used in two issues including email translation and text translation between the two languages The sending of emails is part of the everyday life of companies, and the language used may be an issue with this type of communication Therefore email translation is necessary Email translation is related to product descriptions, emails about foreign cooperation, and potential launches As these emails are almost from the Englishspeaking countries (such as the UK, the US, Australia, etc), English - Vietnamese translation version is used more often The length of each email is usually about two to three pages The translated document is more complex than email translation because it relates to detailed data All documents will be translated from English to Vietnamese for the goal of understanding and obtaining information for the new marketing strategies and international commercials The length is about ten to twenty pages This task must be handled on time according to the supervisor’s requirements This task requires us to have responsibility for our translation Translating specialized documents will help us to widen the door of knowledge 12 2.2 Challenges and experience during the internship process 2.2.1 Challenges Despite receiving career development opportunities, the challenges that I encountered were inevitable Overcoming that stage is partly thanks to the support of my supervisor – Ms Thao, the leadership as well as the employees in the company Here are some difficulties that I encountered First of all, as a student of the English Faculty at Thuong Mai University, I learned the basics of translating and interpreting but lacked practical knowledge, I faced many difficulties when working in the Marketing Department The clean energy field has many difficult professional terms It is worth noting that all the company's products are supplies, materials, goods, equipment, spare parts and products in the renewable energy field, mainly solar power Understanding energyspecific terms are not easy, it requires specialized knowledge During the translation process, I realized my lack of knowledge related to this field Working with renewable energy documents every day requires me to learn a lot of specialized vocabulary by myself Besides, I have to find the most suitable translation for each version because the foreigner’s style is quite different from the Vietnamese’s In addition, translation requires me to have social knowledge and this is not easy for a new intern Secondly, writing and replying to a partner’s emails can also be a hindrance at first Although I have learned about business correspondence in replying to emails from suppliers and customers, infrequent use can lead to forgetting or confusing types of correspondence Using formal words also causes some challenges Especially, for complaint emails, if we cannot deal with them clearly and smartly, the relationship between the two sides will be easily broken 13 The next one is the disability to adapt quickly to a new working environment I spent a long time getting familiar with the job and my colleagues I was still new to using some machines like printers, copiers, etc However, my colleagues in the company are all very friendly to help me with this Finally, I sometimes could not balance the time between working eight hours per day and studying Learning in class and work coming at the same time make me seem overwhelming at first I often have to get up early and stay up late to finish my assigned tasks, sometimes I'm completely exhausted In summary, either objective troubles or subjective mistakes are unavoidable problems for any intern But these problems are not only the undeniable things that I have to confront but also the steps for me to develop One way or another, I had got the solutions to deal with them slowly but effectively 2.2.2 Experience After nearly months of working as an intern at V.C.P Vietnam Clean Power JSC, I have gained a lot of experience and as well as the opportunity to develop soft skills for myself Firstly, I was able to apply the knowledge and skills that I learned at university to work, such as writing letters and emails formally, translating documents, etc Working via email also helped me to know how to answer customers’ and partners’ emails formally, and improve my correspondence skills Secondly, I can also accumulate more practical knowledge Through translating documents at V.C.P Vietnam Clean Power JSC, I have learned a lot of knowledge about this major, not only improving my English but also having the opportunity to acquire knowledge in a new field I learned that before translating something, I should 14 first skim through the document once or twice to get the main points, and then relate to the field Next, I should a thorough search by reading newspapers or related documents, watching the news on TV in Vietnamese, etc to make sure I understand it well as well as the specific terms It can help me translate faster and more fluently Thirdly, I knew that each individual is a part of a company and an element of society Therefore, I had to be sociable and integrate to catch the constant development of everyone I learned how to get along with other colleagues in the company and build good relationships with partners This has helped me a lot to be more confident and improve my communication skills Lastly, I can improve my office computer skills and know how to approach the machines in the office such as printers, copiers, and fax machines I’m getting used to being more familiar with the modern, dynamic and professional environment of the company as well as the office culture in the workplace In conclusion, after the internship, I think the achievements and experiences that I obtained are really useful for me both in the course of my current work and my job in the future CHAPTER Suggestions to improve English ability With the current demand, it is necessary for employees to overcome the weakness in English Since then, each employee needs to have the spirit of self-study, improve 16
