2nd Grade - Oak Hill School Virtual Day Assignments: Day Missed-November 19, 2019 Grade ELA, Math The state of Indiana requires all schools to be in session 180 days The EVSC School Board has approved making up the remaining instructional time by using the Indiana Department of Education’s Virtual Option For the past several years, EVSC has implemented the Virtual Option for making up missed instructional days Because of the work of teachers and administrators, and support of families and community partners, students are able to make up days of lost learning through virtual means closer to the time of actual instruction, rather than adding days at the end of the school year Based on feedback from the previous four school years of successfully utilizing the virtual make-up option, EVSC will use the virtual option in addition to built-in make-up days to make up recently missed instruction Date of Missed School Day: November 19, 2019 Date assignments due: December 9, 2019 Note: There are THREE assignments to complete ❏ ELA Study Island: Recounting Stories (minimum of 70%) ❏ ELA Study Island: Compound Words (minimum of 70%) ❏ Math Addition and Subtraction within 100 (minimum of 70%) Directions for Math and ELA (Reading) Study Island Assignments: Study Island: Login to Study Island Go to The assignments titled Math Virtual School Day Assignment and Reading Virtual School Day Assignment Read/Review: Read and review the skill by clicking on “lesson” for the assigned skill If there is a video to accompany the lesson, students are expected to view it as well Be sure to click on all blue arrows at the bottom of each page and “finish” at the top of the last page when you complete it Be sure to read each page completely Assignment Questions: Eventually, you will answer the practice questions for the assigned skill Be sure to read the question carefully and look at all of your answer options If you answer an item incorrectly, be sure to read the “explanation” so you understand your mistake Reminders: Students are expected to earn a score of 70% or higher with at least 10 questions answered per skill Students are encouraged to read/watch the review lesson prior to doing the assignment When a student reaches this goal, he/she is considered proficient Students who not complete the virtual lessons with a 70% or higher will be marked absent for the Virtual Learning Day Students will be graded on their assignment Please note the grade they earn on Study Island will equal the grade that is entered in RDS This means a student who earns a 70% in Study Island will receive a 70% in the grade book Students are ALWAYS able to complete Study Island as many times as they wish for a better score Math: 2.CA.1 Add and subtract fluently within 100 ELA (Reading and Language Arts): 2.RL.2.2 Recount the beginning, middle, and ending of stories, including fables and folktales from diverse cultures, and determine their central message, lesson, or moral a Recount/retell (or graphically represent) key details from literary texts, including fables and folktales from diverse cultures b Determine the problem, resolution, and central message of a story c Describe how key details, such as the problem and resolution, help determine the central message, lesson or moral 2.RF.4.6 Read multisyllabic words composed of roots, prefixes, and suffixes;
