Address: 68 Nguyen Van Linh Street, Hung Yen City - Fax : 03213 765 077 • Director in the company : Nguyen Thu Hang • Supervisor in English Department : MA Dao Thi Phuong Student: Le Van Kien_Lop: D08.14NN01 Page Internship report Supervisor: MA Dao Thi Phuong OVERVIEW OF THE INTERNSHIP I INTRODUCTION As an English-majored student of Chu Van An University, I have an opportunity to study and work at “Dong Hanh Viet” Travel Company for my internship course This is a valuable opportunity for me to practice my English knowledge, communication skill and learn experience and soft skills from every body in the company I myself think that the company is an ideal organization that students of foreign languages can collect information and get valuable experience of work I started my training as a receptionist in “Dong Hanh Viet ” Travel Company on January 10th 2017 and the internship finished on March th 2017 The program lasted for about six weeks … Student: Le Van Kien_Lop: D08.14NN01 Page Internship report Supervisor: MA Dao Thi Phuong II CONTENT OF THE REPORT INTRODUCTION AND DESCRIPTION OF ORGANIZATION Established in October 2005 by Ms Nguyen Thu Hang, Dong Hanh Viet Travel Company has been developing and knowing by a lot of customer in Vietnam and other countries through years of operation Located at 68 Nguyen Van Linh Street, that is a convenient place for customers to know as well as for tourism business At the time, the company has nineteen employees who are very good and friendly Moreover, facilities and office equipment are well-prepared and modern Guide Department (9 people) Marketing Department (3 people) Operating Department (4 people) Account Department (3 people) The company has nineteen employees In which, guide department has nine members, marketing department has three members, operating department has four employees and accounting has three members All of them are well-educated as well as friendly and enthusiastic They always try their best to complete assigned task and help me in my work JOB DISCRIPTION My job is a receptionist in the company Reception practice is not simple, but also not too difficult as I thought A receptionist is often the first business contact a person will meet at any organization It is an expectation of most organizations that the receptionist maintains a calm, courteous and professional demeanor at all times Student: Le Van Kien_Lop: D08.14NN01 Page Internship report Supervisor: MA Dao Thi Phuong regardless of the visitor’s behavior Therefore, I think that receptionist is a very enjoyable and interesting job The first, the duty of a receptionist may include answering customers’ inquiries about the company and its products or services, sorting and handing out mails, a switchboard, setting appointments, filing, records keeping, keyboarding entry and performing a variety of other office tasks, such as receiving, directing and relaying telephone messages and faxing messages, picking up and delivering the mail, opening and dating stamp all general correspondence, maintaining the general filing system and filing all correspondence, assisting in the planning and preparation of meetings, conferences and conference telephone calls Sometimes, the receptionists may also perform bookkeeping or cashiering duties Some, but not all, offices may expect the receptionist to serve coffee or tea to guests, and to keep lobbying area tidy I spent weeks on training in the “Dong Hanh Viet” Travel Company I went to the company days a week And my working time table is dependent on the working time table of the company Office time - In the morning: from 7:30a.m to 11:30a.m In the afternoon: from 16:00p.m to 20:00p.m I would report my job and the problems of acquisition by myself as follows: MY PERSONAL PLAN Week 1: From January 10th, 2017 to February 19th, 2017 - Morning: 7.30 AM to - Friday (04/03/2017) 11 AM - Afternoon: PM to PM - Typing document of tours - Cleaning table and arranging documents - Having a small party with everybody in the company Student: Le Van Kien_Lop: D08.14NN01 Page 13 Internship report Supervisor: MA Dao Thi Phuong III THE PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT Firstly, the internship helps me learn more about myself Through this internship, I can gain clarity on my strengths, weaknesses, and interests Equally important, I can also learn what I don’t enjoy doing …… Finally, the internship experience makes me a better job candidate, helps me decide what type of job/career I really want to pursue, and increases my chances of getting hired at a great starting salary Student: Le Van Kien_Lop: D08.14NN01 Page 14 Internship report Supervisor: MA Dao Thi Phuong IV THE EXPERIENCE ACQUIRED THROUGH THE TRAINING COURSE Through weeks of training process at the “Dong Hanh Viet” Travel Company, I got a lot valuable working experience and soft skills In my opinion, these precious experiences will help me a lot for my work in future The following is some of experiences which I gained during this training course The first, the training course brought to me the opportunity to use my English knowledge through communicating with foreign customers and translating many tour documents I recognized that my English is improved so much through practice I learned a lot of vocabulary, information and knowledge in tourism as well as know how to use translation methods … Especially I also learned so many important skills in dealing with customers and working with staffs Moreover, in spite of short time of training process, the Student: Le Van Kien_Lop: D08.14NN01 Page 15 Internship report Supervisor: MA Dao Thi Phuong internship course at the company makes me feel more confident and patient than before In conclusion, after this practice, I feel grown-up with experience in communication, skills to solve difficulties These experiences, I always had written recorded carefully as “fund of knowledge” by myself IV SUGGESION I think that the time for my internship course is so short Five weeks is too short for us to get enough experience in working and skills in working environment So I hope that the time for internship course should be longer For the company, because translation is my major so I would like to be given more documents to translate … Student: Le Van Kien_Lop: D08.14NN01 Page 16 Internship report Supervisor: MA Dao Thi Phuong CONCLUSION After about two months of training process at the “Dong Hanh Viet” Travel Company, I finished my internship successfully with the whole-hearted help and careful guidance of my Director and Training guide Ms Nguyen Thu Hang, and all employees of “Dong Hanh Viet” Travel Company … At last, I wish all of you a good health and success Thank you very much!
