tourism industry Tourism is a vast field, but not most people have a full and correct understanding of this industry With the above urgent requirements, I believe that providing a suggested translation for the book is a necessary task By referring to the theoretical bases of researchers combined with personal observation, I provide an accurate translation, which demonstrated the ability to use the native language fluently Suggesting to the reader a complete translation that is suitable and easy to understand, thereby giving the reader the knowledge and information they need STUDENT: Thu ThaoCode: 24203115682 Graduation Thesis CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION 1.1 Rationale As a young person who loves to experience and explore, I express a wish to travel Going to a new place and meeting new people helps me accumulate a lot of capability With the desire to expand my knowledge about tourism for myself as well as many young people who love travel like me, so I want to use the knowledge that I have learned at university to present my own this translation I hope that with the proposed translation of chapter nine of Tourism principles, practices, philosophies book I can provide the reader with some insight regarding the behavior of consumers or visitors Through understanding the psychology of consumers, tourism people can come up with effective business strategies, attracting a large number of tourists 1.2 Aim and objective During my years studying at Duy Tan University, I have gained a complete knowledge of English, contributing to the implementation of this graduation paper Some acquirements that I have accumulated include: Improving translation skill Enhancing the tourism knowledge Reviewing the knowledge of grammar and sentence structure to analyze the translation effectively Knowing the way to organize the ideas and to create a smooth translation Translating the text smoothly and naturally Proposing a translation that many people can understand and have the overview about tourism 1.2.2 Objective In order to deploy some major aims of this project I note some following objective: To comprehend the complicated words, sentences, structure grammar, etc To Vietnamese style To suggest some methods and solutions for teaching and learning in English faculty and Duy Tan university To review the individual knowledge about grammar, theoretical background, etc To give a suitable translation for a useful book 1.3 The scope of study The study concentrates on translating and analyzing of suggested version, and some difficult words and structures of chapter “ Motivation for pleasure travel” written by Charlet R Goeldner and J.R Brent Ritchet, published 2011, parallel with proposing some significant solutions for this suggested translation 1.3.1 Text feature Providing audience with an overview of the industry in general as well as catching customer psychology in particular Understanding the travel motivations of tourists helps business people to plan and define effective business strategies to attract a lot of tourist 1.3.2 Text length The chapter of the book “Tourism principles, practices, philosophies” is picked The translation paper has 1.3.3 Text organization The book “Tourism principles, practices, philosophies” includes 20 chapters This is a work that presents useful travel insight: Chapter divided into parts: • • • • •
