Nguyen Khanh Linh- 11172651- Business English 59B PROPOSAL LOGISTICS SERVICE PERFORMANCE OF HAI AN WOOD LOGISTICS CO., LTD: EVALUATION FROM 2019 TO 2021 AND RECOMMENDATIONS Rationale Globalization and free trade have been driving forces in the global economic growth in the 21st century In recent years, international trade integration has become an important requirement not only for corporations but also for the national economy, especially in the context of international collaboration In particular, promoting import and export operations is one of several countries' primary goals Specifically, in the context of Vietnam, our country became an official member of the World Trading Organization (WTO) at the beginning of 2007, which expanded Vietnam’ trade opportunities with neighboring nations Moreover, the elimination of tariff barriers when engaging into FTA is one of the elements contributing to the attractiveness of Vietnam's market As a result, in recent years, growing economic integration in the international market resulted in the significant growth of trading in general and export-import operations in particularthe development of Vietnam's economy, which is the premise for the development of logistics services in our country Although the logistics service business in Vietnam has a lot of promise for development in the future, it still has a number of obstacles in our country The urgent issue for Vietnam's current system of logistics service enterprises is to fully leverage the available potential to improve quality service in logistics service businesses, such as investing in technological improvements or intensive human resources training To that, Vietnamese companies must establish a respectable brand name and a powerful position in an attempt to acquire foreign partners' trust Hai An Wood Logistics Co., Ltd which primarily provides transportation services has functions as an intermediary in the import and export of wood and wood-derived products from Vietnam to other Asian markets However, as a Nguyen Khanh Linh- 11172651- Business English 59B newly established enterprise since 2016, Hai An Wood Logistics Co., Ltd has been gradually developing and confronts a variety of challenges, especially in the fields of importing and exporting ocean freight and air freight Besides domestic enterprises' competition in logistics business activities and the unpredictability of global trade market fluctuations, supporting activities in the logistics service provision process are also worthy of discussion since this activity has not been completely effective From handling bookings, collaborating with shipping lines/airlines and consumers to payment-related issues, they still need to be overcome more During my internship at the company, I worked as a document staff in the import-export department that is a part of the process of offering logistical service to other businesses After participating in and experiencing the company's logistics service business myself, I can partially understand the performance of its logistics operation Therefore, in order to identify solutions for the company's performance, I decided to select the topic “Logistics service performance of Hai An wood logistics Co., Ltd: Evaluation from 2019 to 2021 and recommendations” Research objectives The following study is expected to accomplish these objectives:  To identify the real situation of logistics service operation of Hai An wood logistics Co., Ltd from 2019 to 2021;  To identify and evaluate factors affecting the company's logistics service business operations;  To suggest recommendations for improvement of the enterprise's logistic service business performance Nguyen Khanh Linh- 11172651- Business English 59B Research Scope Although there are a wide range of aspects which should be explored in the research, it would be impossible for the researcher to comprehensively cover all aspects of business operations due to time and finances limitations This research will focus on the information which is the most dominating and significant characteristic in economic aspects in a limited time period from 2019 to 2021, as acquired from interviews with board members, internal records, and data supplied by Hai An wood logistics Co., Ltd After evaluating the company's performance, some recommendations will be proposed with the purpose of enhancing the company's logistics service efficiency Research questions To acquire the aforementioned objectives, the study is conducted to address the following questions: Question 1: From 2019 to 2021, how was the logistics service business of Hai An wood logistics Co., Ltd Question 2: What are factors affecting the logistics service performance of the company? Question 3: What recommendations can be offered to improve the efficiency of company’ logistics service business operation?
