1. Warm up: 5’ Chatting

- Call few pairs to the front of class to ask and answer questions about the location of things in the house

repeat: 10’ - Play the CD and have Ps repeat each line of the chant. Then change the role.

- Focus Ps’ attention on the letters colored differently in the words chair and where

- Introduce the sounds /ch/ and /wh/

- Have Ps practice the sounds carefully

- Play the CD and have Ps read the chant in chorus.

- Do choral repetition of the words and sentences until Ps feel confident - Call some Ps to read the sentences aloud

write: 10’ - Tell Ps that they are going to do a dictation. Give Ps a few seconds to read the text in silence before starting the dictation

- Ask Ps to listen and write down the answers

- Call on some Ps to go to the board and write down the answers

- Get Ps to work in pairs and practice saying the sentences

4.Let’s chant:13’ - Tell Ps that they are going to say the Where’s the book? Chant

- Give Ps a few seconds to read the chant in silence

- Check comprehension and give feedback

- Ask Ps to repeat after T when T reads each line of the chant

- Show Ps how to say the chant and do the actions

- Play the recording for Ps to listen while they are reading the chant in their book

- Have PS circle all the words containing the focused sounds in the chant

- Ask Ps to work in groups for practicing chanting and do the actions - Go around and offer help if necessary

- Call 2 groups to the front of the class to chant and do the actions while the rest of the class claps along to the rhythm

1. Warm up: 5’ Kim’s game

- Divide the class into groups

- Give each group 1 paper and 1 pen - Prepare 1 poster which have 10 words: here, there, book, table, chair, under, ball, poster, wall, room

- Explain that T shows the poster in 60 seconds and ask Ps to remember very fast

- After 60 seconds, T roll the poster and give Ps 60 seconds to write down all the words

- Groups get a point for a correct word. The group with the most points wins the game

2.Read and tick:

- Tell Ps that they are going to read the text and tick the correct picture - Give Ps time to read the text. Check comprehension and give feedback - Ask them to do the task individually - Go around to offer help if necessary - Ask them to compare the answer with the partner.

- Call on some Ps to report their answers. T corrects the answer

- Make a few questions to check Ps’

comprehension of the sentences.

- Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation

- T introduces the topic “you are going to read the sentences and find the suitable words to fill in the blanks”.

- Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class - Call on some Ps to go to the board and write down the answers

- T corrects the answers and give marks

- Call some Ps to read the text aloud and then translate into Vietnamese - Do choral and individual repetition of the text

4. Project: 10’ - Tell Ps that they are going to draw a picture of their own bedrooms and present it to the class.

- Ask Ps to prepare a white paper, crayons, pencils

- Give them time to draw the pictures - Go around to monitor the activity and offer help when necessary

-Call some Ps to present the pictures to the front of the class. The whole class listen and give comments
