(1)Unit Nine : UNDERSEA WORLD C:LISTENING Time: 45 minutes I Objectives Educational aim: Ss should take part in preserving and protecting the natural environment Knowledge: a General knowledge: Through this unit, Ss will be able to get the main ideas to decide True-False statements and to answer the questions b Language: Words related to the information about the whale II- Skill: Listening for gist and for specific information III- Method: Integrated, mainly communication IV- Teaching aids: Tape, pictures showing the shape of the whale V- Procedure: Teacher’s activities Warm-up ( check the old lesson ) (4mn) - Ask Ss to give some ways to protect sea Environment Students’ activities - Close the books and answer the question - Lead to the new lesson Pre-listening: (10mn) - Give a picture of whales and asks: What are they ? - Write the questions on the board: 1- Do you think whales are fish ?
