(1)Week: UNIT 1: MY FRIENDS Period: Lesson 3: READ th Date: August 27 , 2013 I /Aim By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to read and answer questions about character, hobby of Ba’s friends and their friends II Language contents 1/ Grammar: The present simple tense 2/ Vocabulary: character, orphanage, reserved, sociable, volunteer, annoy, generous III/Techniques: Hangman, Asking and answering, Network, What and where IV/Teaching aids: pictures in textbook on page 13 V/ Procedures 8A ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… Teacher’s and Students’ activities T guides Ss to play a game “Hangman” Ss listen and play the games Draw strokes on the board Each stroke stands for a letter of the word Ss take turn to guess the letters of the word If a student's guess is not right, the teacher draws a stroke (according to the order in the picture) If student guess wrong eight times, they lose Teacher gives the answer T asks Ss some questions Ss answer individually before class T introduces the topic of the text Ask Ss to look at the picture and present Ss answer T’s questions T introduces the lesson Ss listen Have Ss guess characters of Ba’s friends Contents 1/ Warm up: (7 minutes) *Hangman The word has six letters _ _ _ _ _ _ It is “FRIEND” *Answer the questions: - Do you have a lot of friends? - Can you describe one of the best friends of yours? What does he/ she look like? - Are you happy when you have a lot of friends? 2/ Pre-reading(12 minutes) T: This is Ba And who are they? Ss: They are Ba’s friends T: What are they doing?
