(1)Phan Dinh Phung High School Trainee teacher’s name: Nguyễn Thị Bình Supervisor: Nguyen Mai Quyen Lesson Plan English 10 – Advanced level Unit 12 - Music READING SKILL CLASS DESCRIPTION: 40 students at 10D2, 34 nữ, nam, Phan Dinh Phung High School TIME: 90 minutes (Thursday, Feb 28th 2013) OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: - Use certain words about such styles of music as pop music, classical music, folk music, rock-‘n’-roll, etc - Scan the text for specific information ASSUMED KNOWLEDGE: - Ss have already known about some kinds of music and their characteristics ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS: - There may be some new vocabulary, structures of the text so the teacher should be ready to explain them - There may be time left, teacher should prepare some more activities TEACHING AIDS: handouts, power point slides, song PROCEDURE Activities -Time PERIOD 7.1 WARM UP Aim: Motivate students (Ss) and lead Ss to the topic (10’) Teacher Students Game: Jigsaw puzzle Prepare pictures; each picture is cut into pieces Ask Ss to work in groups and put pieces together to make pictures Ask Ss to work in minutes and when they finish their picture they have to quickly go to the board and stick their picture on the board The group which is the quickest will be the winner - Listen to the instruction of the game and work in group Arrange the pieces to complete the picture Stick the picture to the board as soon as possible (2) Elvis Presley Michael Jackson - Ask Ss what they know about the people or things in those pictures Who are they? What kinds of music they sing/play/write?
