LESSON 1: GETTING STARTED AND LISTEN AND READ

Aims: To introduce some famous places in Viet Nam and something about Maryam, Lan’s pen pal with her visiting in Viet Nam

Objectives: By the end of the lesson the students will be able to practice scanning for specific information, and get the use of the structure with “wish”

Skills: Reading, Speaking Teaching aids: poster, pictures. Languages:

Grammar: simple past with “wish”; use of “used to”

Vocabulary: correspond, impress, mosque, pray, depend, keep in touch, mausoleum

I. WARMER: Guessing pictures.

Show the pictures a-f in the book and asks students guess: what are they? Where are they?
