Avidia comes in a variety of chassis sizes to meet the needs of multiple applications. The Avidia 8000 is suited for large CO deployment, and the Avidia 3000 is geared towards digital loop concentrator and multi-tenant unit deployment. When purchasing pure ADC solutions consisting of Megabit Modems with Avidia, customers benefit from the extensive interoperability testing performed to maximize system performance. Ordering and installation is also simplified with a single vendor. Should customers decide to build their network by combining ADC components with equipment from alternate vendors, the customers get an additional piece of mind knowing that ADC has one of the industries strongest interoperability programs, including maintaining an extensive in-house laboratory. Under this testing program, vendors with equipment that is found to be high quality and interoperable with ADC equipment are certified as PowerLink Partners. This designation is ADC’s highest seal of approval. ADC is also an active participant at the UNH interoperability lab, making its equipment available to other vendors who share the same commitment to interoperability. Through ADC’s ongoing efforts, ADC’s equipment will work with the industries widest range of third-party products. StarGazer Element Management System Service providers can manage ADC’s Megabit Modems, along with the Avidia chassis and ADC’s Campus® equipment, using the StarGazer Element Management System (EMS). StarGazer supports in-band management, allowing carriers to manage the CPE connected to a chassis from a single PVC. StarGazer supports the latest versions of Windows NT and Sun Solaris. Splitters/Microfilters ADC is pioneering G.lite technology, which as “splitterless” DSL, eliminates the need for service providers to install external splitters to separate a POTS voice signal from the ADSL signal on a shared line. Eliminating the so-called “truckroll” holds the promise of spurring the deployment of DSL services, but in some cases, analog devices such as phones and fax machines may interfere with the G.lite signal operating on a shared line. For these cases, customers will benefit from installing microfilters and/or microsplitters on those analog devices, to eliminate the noise. High quality microfilters and microsplitters are available from ADC. Additional Products From ADC ADC’s Megabit Modem solutions give users efficient access to today’s dynamic Internet technologies and are backed by our comprehensive RapidLaunch service and support program. ADC —The Leader In DSL Technology Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) technology has revolutionized telecommunications. By allowing high-speed data transfer over the existing copper line infrastructure, incumbent and competitive service providers alike can now offer cost-effective communications services to business and residential customers. Many vendors manufacturer DSL equipment, but ADC makes choosing that equipment easier by offering the best products backed by a top-notch service and support team. Cutting-edge Technology ADC has long been at the forefront of DSL technology. Some of ADC’s accomplishments include: • Introducing the world’s first single-chip DMT ADSL solution • Introducing the first DSL products targeting the enterprise services and campus market, with its Campus-RS™ line of DSL concentrators and modems • Creating the OPTIS line code used for HDSL2 • Introducing the first fully compliant G.lite modems • Developing Avidia, the industry’s first line of DSL access concentrators integrating ATM switching capability, which launched an entirely new generation of DSLAMs World-class Service and Support: RapidLaunch™ Although customers often choose ADC because of its world- class technology, ADC recognizes that sales and service support are also a critical part of any solution. To meet this need, ADC has announced two programs, RapidLaunch Global Marketing Services and RapidLaunch Global Support Services, to help ADC’s customers with planning, building and launching high- revenue DSL applications. ADC works with customers to find ways to identify target markets, plan the appropriate service offerings based on customer demographics and help with a smooth, efficient service rollout with worry-free, ongoing maintenance. ADC’s success is dependent on the success of its customers, and the RapidLaunch program maximizes the value of a service providers investment in ADC’s equipment.
