Lesson 1: Reading A - Preparation I - Teaching aims: Reading about cultural diversity Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:

Content Task

- Break the class into two groups, A and B

- Choose two representatives from the two groups to sit in the 'hot seats' in the front with their backs to the board - Write a word on the board and ask the groups to explain, describe or define the word in any ways so that their team mates in the 'hot seats' can speak out the word

- A ward one point to the fastest group to succeed in guessing the word

- The group with more points is the winner

Task Look at the pictures in the textbook and answer the questions:

Do you think there are any differences b/w wedding and marriage In Vietnam & India? (yes) Do you think there are differences in people's beliefs, ideas, attitudes about wedding and marriage in Asian countries and America? What are the differences?

- In the lesson we are going to learn the cultural diversity about marriage b/w Asians & Americans.
