Isaac Newton was born on December 25, 1642, in Wools Thorpe, a small village in Lincolnshire, England He is generally regarded as one of the geatest scientists and mathematicians in history His work on optics and gravitation make him one of the greatest scientiste the world has known

Isaac Newton did not go to school until he was twelve At school, Isaac Newton often reached the top of the school When he dropped down the school order, he worked hard again until he was top He repeated this through his school days

After leaving school, Isaac went up to Trinity College, at the university of Cambridge in 1661, where he spent a lot of time reading and working on making scientific instruments, which included a telescope He used this to study the movement of the planets and began to work out why they moved in particular ways He became interested in mathematics, optics, physics and astronomy Isaac was awarded his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1665 BAck at Cambridge in 1667, Isaac Newton became a professor of mathematics In this position he had to teach other people and so had to talk and write about his work Isaac Newton died in London on 20th March 1727 He is buried in Westminster Abbey Isaac Newton used to be the best students in his school
