translating articles from English to Vietnamese and vice versa, I had to face up with some difficulties.I think I want to be a translator is about much more than simply being bilingual, it is about being able to interpret and transcribe a message suitably, according to its purpose and target audience, taking into account not only language aspects, but also social and cultural factors In order to successfully and accurately complete a translation, a very specific set of skills is required to overcome language barriers Language structure Probably the most common problem that anyone working in any translation field will have; language structure is the bane of their lives When you are moving from one origin language to a vastly different, or even not so different, target language, it can be difficult to not just translate the words The problem, of course, is that this can create a rather jumbled result at the other end, and leave you with something, that while readable, will not really instil any confidence in any potential customer, business partner or another reader It's always important to know not just the language, but also how and why things are worded in certain ways Missing words Not everything translates For anyone looking to have documentation translated into a target language, that can be a scary prospect, but it's the straight up truth While the majority of languages will have words and phrases for most things, there are always certain words and phrases that are just either totally different or missing entirely from target languages It may not make translation to make them understandable and adapted without altering them: you have to remain true to the original piece How to handle these difficulties To turn translation challenges into opportunities and make efficient, accurate translations, you should: • Not be literal: adapt the translation to transcribe accurately the meaning of the message and use the proper expressions • Know about the industry, its technical vocabulary, its procedures: specializing in specific industries, fields • Have good communication skills: to transcribe a message without altering its purpose and keep its actual meaning As you can see, to be suitable for professional translations and to work for translation agencies that work with professional native translators, it takes more than just being bilingual It is about being able to find the right words to depict the right message in another language The quality of a translator’s work involves translating and localizing messages and documents accurately and accordingly, weeks of training process at the “Dolphin English Center”, I got a lot valuable working experience and soft skill In my opinion, these precious experiences will help me a lot for my work in future The following is some of experiences which I gained during this training couse The first, the training course brought to me the opportunity to use my English knowledge through communicating with native teachers and translating many education documents I recognized that my English is improved so much through practice I learned a lot vocabulary, information and knowledge in education as well as Name : in office Moreover, inspite of short time of training process, the internship course at Dolphin English Center , I feel more confident and patien than before As the receptionist at the center, I also learned some good characteristics like attentiveness, initiative, loyalty, maturity, respect for confidence and discretion, a positive attitude and independence I feel grown-up with experiences in communication and translation, skills to solve difficulties These experiences, I always had written recorded carefully as “fund of knowledge” by myself After about weeks of training process at Dolphin English Center, I finished my internship successfully with the whole-hearted help and careful guidance of my supervisor Mr Nguyen The Hoa, the training guide Mrs Nguyen Thi Le Dung and all my coworkers of Dolphin English Center for supporting and creating favorable condition for me to completely my training process and this paper At last, I wish all of you a good health and success.Thank
