Cách thành lập tính từ so sánh hơn:

Để thành lập tính từ so sánh hơn, ta thêm ER vào sau tính từ (tính từ ngắn)

2 So sánh với tính từ/trạng từ dài: Tính từ/ trạng từ dài tính từ/ trạng từ có âm tiết trở lên mà không tận đuôi: Y, OW, ER

Tính từ dài: S1 + am/is/are + more + adj + than + S2 …. Trạng từ dài: S1+ V(chia) + more + adv + than + S2

• Một số tính từ có hai âm tiết kết thúc “et, ow, le, er,y” áp dụng qui tắc tính từ ngắn

3 So sánh ngang

– Công thức: S1 + V(chia) + as + adj/adv + as + S2

– Ví dụ: Lan is 16 I’m 16, too Lan is as young as I am.(Lan trẻ tôi) * Hoa runs as fast as me

4 So sánh kém

– Công thức: S1 + do/does/did + not + V + as + adj/adv + as + S2 S1+ / am/is/are (+not) + so/as + adj/adv + as + S2

– Ví dụ:

Quang is 1.7 metres tall Hung is 1.6 metres tall

=>Hung is not so tall as Quang (Hùng không cao Quang)

– Cơng thức: S + V(chia) + the + tính từ ngắn + est S + V(chia) + the + most + tính từ dài

– Bốn cấu trúc viết lời bình phẩm:
