Tính từ dài tính từ có hai âm tiết khơng kết thúc
–y
.
Ví dụ:

Tất tính từ có từ âm tiết trở lên tính từ dài.
Ví dụ:
beautiful
(đẹp)
delicious
(ngon)
expensive
(đắt đỏ)

Cách hình thành dạng so sánh tính từ dài
Để chuyển tính từ dài sang dạng so sánh nhất, ta cần thêm cụm từ "the most"
vào trước tính từ dài đó.
Ví dụ:
famous => the most famous
She was the most famous singer in the USA last year
(Cô ca sĩ
tiếng nước Mĩ vào năm ngoái.)
Ví dụ:
beautiful => the most beautiful
This is the most beautiful city that I have ever visited
(Đây thành phố đẹp mà
tơi ghé thăm.)
Trong tiếng Anh có số tính từ dài mà chuyển sang dạng so sánh ta có hai
cách.
- Cách thứ ta thêm
–est
vào sau tính từ giống quy tắc tính
từ ngắn.
- Cách thứ hai ta thêm cụm "the most" vào trước tính từ giống quy tắc
tính từ dài ta vừa học trên.
Một số tính từ có dạng là:
