UNIT 11: Kk Lesson + Lesson 4

I OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ps will be able to: - Read and say the three Kk words correctly

- Recognize and say a new Kk word correctly

* Handicapped - Hải Vân (1B) can listen, read and say letter Kk and words correctly with teacher’s help.

1 Language focus:

- Vocabulary: kite, kitten, koala, kangaroo 2 Skill: Reading, listening, speaking, writing II TEACHING AIDS:

1 Teacher: Pupil's book, CD, phonic cards 2 Student: pupil's book, page 53

III METHODS: P.P.P, games, chant IV PROCEDURE:

1 Organization (1’): - Greet Ps

- Check Ps’ attendance

- Put up the kite, kitten and koala phonics cards on the board - Write their words in a column in random order

- Ask individuals to come to the board and match the words to the phonics cards by drawing lines

- Ask the rest of the class to check the answer New lesson (25’):

Activity (10’):

- Ask Ps to look at the picture in the book and name each object

-Decide the beginning sound for each word of the picture

-Ask Ps to circle the pictures of the words which have the sound /k/ at the beginning

-Have some individuals point to the objects of the words having the k sound and say them again * Handicapped - Vân (1B) say the words then circle, point and say with teacher’s help.

Extension: Finding the words ( 5’ ) -Divide class into two teams

-Ask Ps to look at the picture in activity again -Call out the items that Ps see in the picture

-Each student saying correct item will get point for his/her team

-The team with the most point wins Activity (10’):

Listen point and repeat:

-Show the Ps the kangaroo phonics card Point to it and say: / k / - kangaroo Ask them to repeat -Mime hopping like a kangaroo and say: / k /

-kangaroo Encourage the Ps to the same -Point to the pictures, the Ps corresponding

actions and say the words

-Play the CD, Ps listen and repeat

-Ask Ps to work in pair: The first student point to the pictures and the other student say the word then change the roles

*Colour:

-Point to the pictures and have Ps name them -Get Ps to colour the pictures of the words that

start with the K sound Go around the classroom providing any necessary help

* Handicapped - Hải Vân (1B) listen and repeat Colour the picture with k sound with teacher’s help.

*Lesson : Ask Ss exercise in activity book at home (5’)

UNIT 12: Ll Lesson

I OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ps will be able to:

- Recognize and pronounce the letter Ll and its sound correctly - Understand, recognize and say the three Ll words

- Write the letter Ll

* Handicapped Ss- Hải Vân (1B): will be able to recognize the letter Ll, listen and repeat vocab and colour with teacher’s help

- Vocabulary: lemon, lion, lollipop 2 Skill: Reading, listening, speaking, writing II TEACHING AIDS:

1 Organization (1’): - Greet Ps

- Check Ps’ attendance

- The Ps will get an envelope with the cards Kite, kitten, koala, kangaroo in it - Play the music and get Ps tosses the envelop to the next person When the

music is paused, the pupil who is holding the envelop has to pick out one flash card and read aloud

3 New lesson (27’):

Activity (10’):

- Use a card with letter Ll (or write on board the letter Ll) to introduce to the Ps the new lesson - Instruct Ps how to pronounce the letter name and

the letter sound by saying: “This is the letter L /el / The letter L says /l /.”

- Repeat several times and check Ps’ pronunciation (letter L /el / and its sound /l /)

- Use the phonics cards with lemon, lion, and lollipop, read the words out loud and have Ps repeat

- Use gestures to help Ps to understand the meanings of the three words

- Stick the cards on board and have Ps repeat the words

- Call some Ps to say the words aloud

* Handicapped Ss (Hải Vân – 1B): recognize the letter Ll and the words with l sound, read with teacher’s help

Check the vocabulary: Sit and Stand Game

- Show the phonics cards one by one For example, show the card with lion, but incorrectly say lemon

or lollipop, the Ps will stand; if the words are

correctly said, they will stay sitting Activity (12’)

- Have Ps look at the book and listen to the expression: “Look !A lemon, And a lion, And a lollipop! Hurrah”,

- Have Ps point to the objects when they hear

- Have Ps listen and repeat the words for several times

- Give feedback

- Ask Ps to colour the lemon, the lion and the lollipop using any colour they like

- Go around the classroom and check

* Handicapped Ss (Hải Vân – 1B): listen and point, then colour with teacher’s help

Follow up:

- Write the words lemon, lollipop, lion, kite, kitten on the board

1 Listen, point and repeat Colour.

- Divide class into groups

- Get Ps to play the game run and touch Chant and show! (5’)

- Use the phonics cards on the board and have Ps sing the chant with lemon Do the same with lion and lollipop

- The whole class sings the whole chant Do the chant again using gestures for each word

- Give feedback

* Handicapped Ss: read the chant with teacher’s help

4 Consolidation (3’): Writing in the air

- Show the letter Ll again, have Ps write the Ll in air with their fingers 5 Homework: Ask pupils to practice the letter Ll and the sound at home. VI Evaluation:
