Grammar

A.PASSIVE FORMS (Thể bị động)Cấu trúc câu bị động

Subject + be + V3/ ed + Adv of place + by object + Adv of time

This tree is planted by my grandfather

S be V3/ed by O

Cách đổi câu chủ động sang câu bị động:

Muốn đổi câu chủ động sang câu bị động, ta thực bước sau:

Active : S V(active) O

Passive : S + be + past participle (passive) +by O  công thức tổng quát động từ câu bị động

Be + past participle (V3/ed)

Be chia theo động từ câu chủ động

* Present simple -> am/is/are + V3/ed

Mr Robinson teaches English (Ông Robinson dạy Tiếng Anh)

-> English is taught by Mr Robinson (Tiếng Anh dạy ông Robinson)

* Future simple -> will + be + V3/ed

We will hold the meeting tonight (Tối tổ chức họp)

* Modal verbs (can, should, must, ) -> can/should/must .+ be + V3/ed

Lan can answer this math problem (Lan giải toán này)

-> This math problem can be answered by Lan (Bài tóannày giải Lan) Lưu ý: by them, by people, by someone thường bỏ

They build this house -> This house is built

II- Adjectives followed by an infinitive or a noun clause

(Tính từ theo sau động từ nguyên mẫu mệnh đề danh từ)

a To infinitive

Sau tính từ cấu trúc câu nhấn mạnh với chủ ngữ giả It It + be + adjective + to infinitive

It’s difficult to learn Japanese (Học tiếng Nhật khó) It’s nice to talk to you (Nói chuyện với bạn thật thú vụ)

b Noun clause (That clause)

Mệnh đề danh từ (noun clause) thường dùng với tính từ diển tả xúc cảm, lo lắng, tin tưởng, delighted, glad, pleased, relivered, sorry, afraid, anxious, worried, confident, certain

Subject + be + adjective + noun clause (that clause)

I am delighted that you pass your exam (Tôi vui anh vượt qua kỳ thi)

I am afraid that I can’t accept this assignment (Toâi e nhận nhiệm vụ này)  Exercises

3.Write the sentences, using the adjective + to – infinitive structure.

4 Combine each pair of the sentences, using the adjective + to-infinitive/ noun clause structure.
