Ask and answer by using: “Where is/are ““ ?“ B. Preparation T: reference books, cassette, pictures and board Ss: do and learn by heart all the old lesson before coming to class C. Procedure Time Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 5 mins 5 mins 12 mins I/ Warm up - Ask the Ss to play “guessing game”, use the pictures in C2. Ask the Ss to use Yes/ No questions and the teacher answer “yes/ no”. II/ Checking up the previous lesson. - Call 2 Ss to do the exercise 1. b, It s on the box’ c, It s behind the box.’ d, It s between the boxes.’ e, It s to the left of the box.’ f, It s in front of the box.’ g, It s to the right of the box.’ III. New lesson C3/ Listen and read. - Hang the picture Ask: What is this? - Ask Ss to describe the picture - Turn on the stereo  Show the picture to introduce new words + Police station (n): §ån c¶nh s¸t + Drug store (n): HiÖu thuèc + Photocopy store (n): Cöa hµng ph« t« + Bakery (n): HiÖu b¸nh m× + Movie theatre (n): Nhµ h¸t - Play the game - Do the exercise - Look at the picture - Describe. - Listen 10 mins 5 mins + Opposite (prep): §èi diÖn - Ask the Ss to read in chorus. - Call some Ss to read again the new words - Remark and give feed back. - Ask Ss to play a game “matching” (Books closed) A B 1, Police station 2, Drug store 3, Photocopy store 4, Bakery 5, Movie theatre 6, Opposite a, Nhµ h¸t b, Cña hµng ph« t« c, §ån c¶nh s¸t d, HiÖu b¸nh m× e, §èi diÖn f, HiÖu thuèc - Call some Ss to work in group of three - Call some representative of the groups to read aloud. - Remark and give feed back. - Ask Ss to answer T or F (use board) 1) The movie theatre is next to the toystore. 2) The bookstore is opposite the photocopy store. 3) The bakery is between the movie theatre and the photocopy store. 4) There is a temple on the street - Call some Ss to read the results.  Remark C4. Practice with a partner a) Introduce “Where is the bakery?” Write on: It’s opposite the toystore Explain: Where is the ………… ? It’s opposite the ………. - Ask Ss to practice b) Play a guessing game T: It’s opposite the movie theatre What is it? Yes, that’s right - Call Ss to practice in pairs - Call some Ss to read aloud. - Remark C5. Ask and answer questions about your house with a partner. - Ask the Ss to read the questions. - Ask the Ss to write the answers. - Read aloud. - Read in front of the class. - Listen - Play the game. - Group work - Read aloud - Listen and write down - Work in individuals. - Read aloud. - Listen and write down - Pair work - Read the results - Pairwork - Read the results. - Listen and write down 5 mins 3 mins - Ask the Ss to work in pairs. - Call some pairs to read. - Remark and give feed back. D. Consolidation - Redescribe the picture in C3 E.
