Aims and objectives : * Language content : To teach them how to ask about quantity of things and how to use singular nouns and plural nuons. * Language function: To help them count things around them. To teach them to distinguish the ending sound “s” * Educational aim: To make them aware of the quantity of things in the class, the school, to keep them clean and safe. 1. Language : a.Vocabulary: Review b.Structures: How many book are there? There is one / There are two. 2. Skills : Speaking – Listening - Reading - Writing 3. Educational factor : Counting the things in the room II. Teacher’s and students’ preparation : 1. Method: Communicative approach: 2. Techniques:repetition, asking and answer, pair work, play game 3. Material needed:pictures, word card and cassette 4. Students’ preparation:pick up some new words, prepare the lesson 5. Previous exercises:exercise in the workbook III. PROCEDURES IN CLASS : 1. Stabilization: 3 minutes a.Warm–up:making greetings b.Checking absence:asking the monitor who’s absent 2. Checking up previous knowledges: Time needed:5 minutes * Questions: Asks the Ss to count from 20 to 100. * Keys to questions 3. Lead in -Counts all the Ss in the classroom. - Asks the monitor to count the desk. - Asks: How many……? - says “ we are going on studying the numbers, counting and practicing question: how many ? II. Pre-practice -Mentions how to use singular nouns and plural nouns. Explains how to form the plural noun: noun-s Ex: One door – two doors One chair – two chairs One couch – two couches One shelf – two shelves -Tells them the special rule to form the plural of the words ending in –ch, -sh, -x, -s, -o. -Lets them practice the exercises. -Gives them some other special words and ask them to give the plural form. -Devides the class into small groups and asks them to practise together. -Lets them practise freely asking more questions using the plural form. III. While – Practice: - Listen to the teacher - Listen and answer. - Listen to the teacher - Listen and write down. - Practice exercises. - Give the plural form. - Practice. - Ask more questions using the plural form.
