ÂM TIếT Và TRọNG ÂM (SYLLABLES & SRESS) 1. Những từ có nhiều vần, thờng đợc nhấn mạnh ở vần là ngữ căn Ex. friendly Unfriendly Impatient 2. Những từ có hai vẫn thờng đợc nhấn vào âm đầu nếu nó là danh từ hoặc tính từ và nhấn âm thứ hai nếu nó là động từ. Ex. ẹnjoy happy table 3. Những từ có hai vần tận cùng bằng ANT hay ENT thờng đợc nhấn mạnh ở vần đầu. Ex. distant current 4. Những từ có 2 vần tận cùng bằng ER thì thờng đợc nhấn mạnh ở vần đầu. Ex. father 5. Những từ có 2 vần mà vần đầu là mẫu tự a( hay tiếp đầu ngữ a) thì luôn luôn đợc nhấn mạnh ở vần thứ 2 Ex. again, ago, asleep 6. Những từ tận cùng bằng ETY, ITY, ION, ICAL, OUS có chủ âm ở vần liền trớc những tận cùng này. Ex. equality election famous 7.
