following descriptions of materials and workmanship apply to the whole of the Works regardless of the trade headings under which they have been described and shall be read in conjunction with the Drawings and Bills of Quantities/Schedule of Rates* 1.2 Where trade names or catalogue numbers are mentioned in this Specification, Drawings or the Bills/Schedule of Rates*, the reference is intended only as a guide to the type of article quoted or material required Subject to the approval of the Architect, the Contractor may substitute any article or material similar and equal to those described by reference to trade names or catalogue numbers All proprietary materials or processes specified in this Specification, Drawings or the Bills of Quantities/Schedule of Rates* are to be used or carried out strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and recommendations 1.3 The Contractor must make allowance in his unit rates to cover for all requirements in the Specifications 1.4 The Contractor shall ensure that these requirements in the Specification be strictly adhered to when carrying out the Works, unless otherwise instructed 2.0 ABBREVIATIONS Throughout the amendment or re-enactment) current as of the date of submission of tender TESTS TO ESTABLISH ACCEPTABILITY OF WORKS VN 72-18 SUNNY Specifications RSP Architects Planners & Engineers (Vietnam) Co Ltd Any tests that are proposed by the Contractor as a result of failure to comply with the requirements of the Specification shall be at the Contractor's expense The Contractor shall also be responsible for any delay caused 4.0 REGULATIONS AND BYE-LAWS It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to ensure full compliance with the relevant regulations and by-laws of the local Authorities in Vietnam 5.0 SAFETY REGULATIONS AND TEMPORARY WORKS The Contractor shall be responsible for the strict observance of all necessary safety requirements to comply with the requirements of the local authorities on site operation safety and all temporary works The Contractor shall employ a Professional Engineer who shall be fully responsible for the design and supervision of all temporary Works carried out in relation to the Works The Professional Engineer shall endorse and submit all structural drawings and calculations pertaining to the temporary works in compliance with the requirements of the local authorities 6.0 SOIL INVESTIGATION REPORTS Refer to the Civil & Structural Engineer 7.0 LEVELS Site levels, either spot or contour, and all other levels shown on the drawings are referenced back to the topographical survey plan prepared by the Survey Department of the Department of Natural Resource and Environment The Contractor shall check and verify all exisiting levels as indicataed on the drawings including the survey plan prior to the commencement of work Any discrepancy which he discovers in respect of this information shall be brought to the attention of the Architect prior to the commencement of work VN 72-18 SUNNY Specifications 8.0 RSP Architects Planners & Engineers (Vietnam) Co Ltd LICENCES, PERMITS AND PERMISSION FROM LOCAL AUTHORITIES All costs and expenses arising out of the necessity to apply for the licences, permits, permissions, etc shall be borne by the Contractor 9.0 CONTINUOUS WORKING If, in the opinion of the Architect, it is deemed necessary by reason of the safety of the Works, or for the restoration of interrupted services, the Contractor shall, when so ordered, carry out the Works or any portion thereof continuously by day and by night without extra charge 10.0 SAFEGUARDING PROPERTIES ADJACENT TO SITE The Contractor's site procedures and method of working shall at all times be such as to limit to a practical minimum any settlement and lateral movement of the ground and buildings around the Site The Contractor shall be responsible for any damage or movement in adjacent properties including roads, paved areas, drains, services, building, street furniture, and underground structures of any type Allowance shall be made for all ancillary treatment and all work necessary to ensure the stability of roadways, adjacent structures, services and underground constructions and for all remedial Works needed to make good any damage to the satisfaction of the relvant Authority or the Architect The Contractor must take due care to safeguard all existing services and culverts that will be affected by his work The Contractor must include all underground pipes and/or cables detection works deemed required to carry out the work safely Due care must be taken when excavating the boreholes and the Contractor will be responsible for any damage done to these services and culverts as a result of his Works 11.0 REINSTATEMENT OF ROADS AND STREET FURNITURE VN 72-18 SUNNY Specifications RSP Architects Planners & Engineers (Vietnam) Co Ltd The Contractor's work shall make allowance for the reinstatement of all the street furniture, and the foundation and surfaces of any roads, kerbs, walkways, and footways etc disturbed by the Works both within and all the adjacent areas of the site The Contractor shall allow for the complete reinstatement of all surfaces damaged in side-tables, and all other Private or Government Lands to the satisfaction of the Architect and the respective Local Authorities Permanent reinstatement must be carried on receipt of a direction from the Architect and the reinstatement shall be completed as soon as possible The Architect may instruct the Contractor to reinstate the roads in sections as the work proceeds The reinstatement must comply with all requirements of the Department of Natural Resource and Environment, Department of Transportation and Public Works, and after relevant Authorities in Vietnam Any work not conforming in standard or extent to the requirements of the Architect or the Authorities must be immediately removed and replaced 12.0 CHECKING AND MONITORING The Contractor shall provide all necessary instrumentation for the close and continuous checking of the movements of adjacent structures, services, and underground constructions 13.0 TESTING AUTHORITY "Testing Authority" shall mean an independent organisation or laboratory locally accredited in Vietnam that is proposed by the Contractor and approved by the Architect fully equipped to carry out all tests and checks required If for any reason, the Architect is not satisfied with the performance of the Testing Authority he may direct the Contractor to use a different testing laboratory at no extra cost 14.0 RESPONSIBILITY VN 72-18 SUNNY Specifications RSP Architects Planners & Engineers (Vietnam) Co Ltd No approval by the Architect shall in any ways relieve the Contractor of his responsibility for the quality of materials and the standard of workmanship in the finished works and for the strength and durability of the finished Works 15.0 DESCRIPTION OF SUBSTRUCTURES AND SUPERSTRUCTURES Refer to the Civil & Structural Engineer 16.0 SITE INFORMATION The Contractor shall refer to the survey plan and soil investigation report provided for indicative site information The Contractor will be deemed to have visited and inspected the site and surroundings before preparing his tender and to have made himself thoroughly acquainted with all visible details of the site including those not specifically mentioned herein or shown on the drawings and which may affect his program or methods of carrying out the Works In case of any discrepancies between legally approved documents and the existing site condition, it is Contractor’s responsibility to inform the Architect and Employer’s Representative prior to commencement of works The standard of quality measurement shall be to the level of compliance with International Standards of Practice, Code requirements and Specification 17.0 PROGRAMME The Contractor shall submit together with his tender a detail programme showing clearly how he proposes to complete the Works within the contract period All the information given must comply strictly with all the requirements specified 18.0 RECORDS AND CERTIFICATES VN 72-18 SUNNY Specifications RSP Architects Planners & Engineers (Vietnam) Co Ltd R - SIPHONIC ROOF DRAINAGE SYSTEM SPECIFICATION PART – GENERAL 1.1.0 SCOPE To design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing & commissioning, warranty of Siphonic Roof Drainage System for the conveyance of rainwater from the roof to ground discharge point via connection to the drainage system for the whole project The Siphonic Specialist shall be responsible to design, supply and install the complete Siphonic Roof Drainage System for the Commercial Tower ( consisting of office, serviced apartment & retail) The Specialist shall the installation of the complete Siphonic Roof Drainage System where no sub-letting of installation works is allowed in this system All Siphonic systems must carry an international recognized certificate (e.g British Board of Agreement Certificates or PSB Test Certificate) for Full Bore Drainage components and system software design similar to Fast Flow Siphonic System or equivalent 1.2.0 RELATED WORK 1.2.1 This section shall be used in conjunction with, but not limited to, the other relevant specifications, the Drawings and Contract Documents to establish the total requirements for the installation of the Siphonic roof drainage system 1.2.2 CAUTION: Using this section without including the above mention will result in omission of the basic requirements 1.2.3 In the event of conflict regarding the roof drainage system requirements between this section and any other document, the more stringent requirement shall apply, unless otherwise specifically instructed by the Architect, or Employer Representative 1.3.0 1.3.1 TRADE PREAMBLES The Contractor shall engage qualified and competence Specialist to carry out the following items for the SO’s acceptance:- 326 VN 72-18 SUNNY Specifications RSP Architects Planners & Engineers (Vietnam) Co Ltd a) Develop all design for the Siphonic Roof Drainage System for the Commercial Tower (consisting of office, serviced apartment & retail) in accordance to the Manufacturer’s design requirement / recommendation To carry out the above works including installation of the complete Siphonic Roof Drainage System in accordance to the Manufacturer’s design requirement / recommendation Propose Specialist with proper track record of minimum 10 nos of similar project/scope of works doing the works Propose Specialist to look into acoustic treatment to the pipe works to achieve the required NC level stated in the Architectural Design Brief (if any)/ similar to typical developments b) c) d) 1.3.2 SAMPLE The Specialist shall submit sample of all major and minor material classified under the Siphonic Roof Drainage system scope of supply Sample submits shall be accompanied with relevant Product data, such as catalogue, technical data as the supporting documents for review & approval 1.3.3 SHOP DRAWING The Contractor shall submit sets of Shop drawings & Typical Installation Details showing outlets position, pipe routes, location and length of each pipe size, including all relevant details of accessories and assemblies complete with Engineering Calculation with PE Endorsement for approval before construction 1.3.4 WORK PROGRAM The Specialist shall submit a detail Work Program with referenced to Master Work Program depicts the interfacing works elaborated with the Builder and their scope of works 1.3.5 AS BUILT DRAWING The Specialist shall submit the As-Built Shop drawings upon the completion of installation and handing over of the system for permanent operation 327 VN 72-18 SUNNY Specifications RSP Architects Planners & Engineers (Vietnam) Co Ltd PART – PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENT 2.1.0 DESIGN AND PRODUCT STANDARD The Siphonic Roof Drainage system shall generally be designed and installed in accordance with Singapore Standard SS 525 (CP for Roof Drainage) or equivalent 2.1.1 PREVAILING CONDITION The system shall be designed and manufactured to meet the specified performances and requirements on dimension, thickness and visual appearance, and fit for the prevailing local weather conditions The roof rainwater shall discharge effectively from the collection points to the discharge points upon completion Pipes and fittings must meet the local manufacturer’s performance specification The Siphonic Roof Drainage System proposed by the Specialist must have a track record of system design, supply and install in Singapore for at least 10 years c/w job reference in Singapore and have a track record in the world market for more than 10 years The Siphonic Specialist must have track records of Siphonic System being design, supply and installed for minimum 10 nos of similar commercial building projects in Singapore 2.1.1 DESIGN PARAMETER The Siphonic system shall be designed to a dimensional rainfall intensity of 200mm/hr 2.2.1 DESIGN VELOCITY The minimum flow velocity in the system shall not be less than 0.7 m/s for horizontal pipes and 2.2 m/s for vertical pipes When the system is operating at its design intensity, the high velocity of the water will ensure the system is performing self-cleansing inside the pipeline 328 VN 72-18 SUNNY Specifications RSP Architects Planners & Engineers (Vietnam) Co Ltd Self-cleansing shall also occur at the rainfalls as low as 50% of the design intensity At rainfalls less than the Siphonic roof drainage system shall operate under vented gravity flow conditions 2.3.0 DESIGN CALCULATION The Siphonic Roof Drainage system shall be designed by customized FastFlow computer program specifically developed for this field or system and certified by either BBA or PSB in accordance to SS552 requirement System design shall be supported by calculation report generated for each designed system Details of in-line components contained within each system shall also be clearly indicated The calculation report shall show clearly the following:  Drainage capacity  Velocity  Upstream pressure  Downstream pressure  Headloss The calculation report must clearly indicate the system imbalance in separate sections In system more than one outlet, the imbalance in the system should not exceed 10% of the hydraulic head (m) or 0.5m, whichever the smaller PART – MATERIALS AND COMPONENTS 3.1.0 SIPHONIC ROOF DRAINAGE SYSTEM’S COMPONENTS The Siphonic Roof Drainage System shall comprise of the following components:- 3.1.1 OUTLET CONSTRUCTION The Siphonic outlet shall be the proven product evident with design technical data (ref BBA Certificate or PSB Certificate), performance graph, test certificate, etc for primary acceptance The system design shall also ensure that the outlets eliminate the intake of air into the system This set up full-bore flow and maximizes the capacity of the pipe work 329 VN 72-18 SUNNY Specifications RSP Architects Planners & Engineers (Vietnam) Co Ltd All exposed to weather component of the rain water outlet shall be of full metallic construction for good weathering & durability 3.1.2 SIPHONIC OUTLET BASED UNIT CONSTRUCTION The Siphonic outlet base plate shall be of stainless steel body complete with aluminum alloy leaf guard & air baffle The siphonic outlet stainless steel base plate shall not have a recess of more than 20mm into the roof slab/metal gutter in order not to interfere with the structure element 3.1.3 SIPHONIC OUTLET INTERFACING UNIT ON RC ROOF/SCUPPER The Siphonic outlets shall come complete with stainless steel water proofing clamp ring for water-tight interfacing with waterproofing material on RC roof/ scupper construction Water-proofing material shall terminate within the base plate unit of the Siphonic outlet and properly secured by the stainless steel water proofing clamping ring complete with stainless steel bolts and nuts for watertightness construction Water proofing membrane shall not rap into the outlet spigot as this will reduce the effective bore of the siphonic outlet 3.1.4 SIPHONIC OUTLET INTERFACING UNIT ON METAL ROOR/GUTTER Siphonic outlets shall come complete with aluminum counter flange and EPDM water seal for outlet installation on metal gutter for water-tightness requirement on Metal roof/ gutter construction Silicon joint as primary with tightness barrier for outlet installation on metal gutter is not acceptable All aluminum flanges and EPDM insulation should be properly secured with the base plate unit of the Siphonic outlet complete with stainless steel bolts and nuts for water-tightness construction 330 VN 72-18 SUNNY Specifications 3.1.5 RSP Architects Planners & Engineers (Vietnam) Co Ltd OUTLET SIZING The Siphonic system shall be designed by selecting suitable size and quantity of outlet to accommodate the computed rainfall The computed flow from an individual outlet shall not exceed the specified maximum capacity for each outlet type size 3.2.0 PIPES & FITTINGS 3.2.1 The selection of the pipe material shall comply with SS525 Clause 4.1 where the pipe system should be able to withstand the maximum hydraulic head which could occur should a blockage take place at the lowest point of discharge 3.2.2 There will be a combination of pipe material to be used in this project if necessary based on the following requirement:a) Pipe system within Hydrostati c pressure zone below 10 Bars - The pipe material shall be of high pressure UPVC pipe to comply with the performance specification for JISK 6741 standard for the total pipe system The pipes material shall be of UPVC "AW/AE" pipes complying to JISK 6741 standard complete with UPVC"AE" fitting Complying to JISK 6739 standard as specified by the Architects The pipe material should also meet the requirement as stated by the System Technical Manual of Siphonic Roof Drainage System b) Pipe system within Hydrostati c pressure zone above 10 Bars - The pipe material shall be of steel pipes class ‘B’ comply to BS1387:1985 / API 5L with hot-dip galvanized finished, joint with mechanical coupling to specialist’s recommendation (Selection in accordance to pressure rating computation) The pipe material should also meet the requirement as stated by the System Technical Manual of Siphonic Roof Drainage System 3.2.3 The selection of pipes & fittings must be able to withstand a working sub atmospheric pressure of –0.9bar 331 VN 72-18 SUNNY Specifications RSP Architects Planners & Engineers (Vietnam) Co Ltd 3.2.4 Pipe joints must be capable of either resisting longitudinal forces without sliding apart or must be restrained to prevent relative movement 3.2.5 The Siphonic Roof Drainage System shall be designed to use pipes & fittings for the whole System subject to their ability to withstand both positive and negative pressure required by the system 3.2.6 Siphonic System moulded or fabricated pipe fittings must be capable of either resisting longitudinal forces without sliding apart or must be restrained to prevent relative movement to the Siphonic Specialist’s requirement 3.2.7 Sharp radius bends in excess of 45 degrees deviation from the direction of flow should not be used PART – WORKMANSHIP & EXECUTION 4.1.0 INSTALLATION 4.1.1 PIPE WORK All pipe works shall be fabricated, assembled, jointed and supported as per pipe manufacturer’s recommendation & requirements subject to the material chosen and confirmed by the Architect 4.1.2 CHANGED OF DESIGN (DURING SITE INSTALLATION) The contractor shall maintain all pipes installation is as per system designed Any changed of piping re-route, level, dimension deviated from the approved shop drawings which might be significantly affected the performance shall be reconfirm by System calculation and gain approval by the System designer and Architect The Siphonic Specialist must have its own in-house Design and Operation Department based in Singapore The specialist must submit its company profile and CV of staffs within Singapore to facilitate the design and installation of the project 4.1.3 SYSTEM PROTECTION DURING CONSTRUCTION PERIOD 332 VN 72-18 SUNNY Specifications RSP Architects Planners & Engineers (Vietnam) Co Ltd The Contractor shall be notified by a method of statement to ensure any possible entries of debris and foreign material likely to affect the system performance during the construction period 4.1.4 TEMPORARY DRAINAGE The system shall not be utilized as temporary roof drainage system during the construction period unless otherwise obtained written approval from the Architect, Superintending Officer or Employer Representative or the Specialist 4.2.0 TESTING & COMMISSIONING 4.2.1 LEAK CHECK (OUTLET) The Specialist shall conduct the Leak Check to the outlet during the roof water proofing ‘Ponding Test’ by ensuring proper jointing and water tightness around outlets 4.2.2 LEAK TEST (PIPE LINE) The Specialist shall conduct flow test to all pipe works and visual inspection to ensure proper jointing at all joints is maintained 4.2.3 PERFORMANCE TEST The Specialist shall conduct at least one dynamic flow test to ensure proper discharging from collection points to discharge points 333 VN 72-18 SUNNY Specifications 4.3.0 RSP Architects Planners & Engineers (Vietnam) Co Ltd MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES In accordance to SS525, the maintenance of the surrounding roof slab or gutter is the responsibility of the Building Owner Upon request and engagement by the Building Owner, the Specialist shall be able to conduct visual inspection at additional cost borne by the Building Owner to ensure proper performance of the Siphonic Roof Drainage The Specialist shall inspect and maintain all Siphonic roof outlets installed in the building including cleaning of outlet surface caused by build-up of debris, where necessary Water flow test will be conducted for the pipe works where water point is available on the respective roof 4.3.1 ACCESSIBILITY OF ROOF & GUTTER The Specialist shall be able to gain access to all RC flat roof / metal gutter to conduct visual inspection and maintenance of the roof outlets In the event that mechanical working platform have to be provided for the conduct of the maintenance, optional cost for the provision of the access equipment will be submitted separately and borne by the Client PART - WARRANTY 4.4.1 The Contractor shall provide a Warranty for the completed works in two sections 4.4.2 The Warranty for the System shall be a period of years from the date of Final Completion of the project 4.4.3 The Warranty for the material used for the system shall be supported by Manufacturer’s Warranty document as per below schedule described: a) Siphonic Outlet b) Design of system 4.4.4 - years years The Warranty for the workmanship shall be a period of year for the completed works against any defects 334 VN 72-18 SUNNY Specifications RSP Architects Planners & Engineers (Vietnam) Co Ltd S – RAISED FLOOR SYSTEM (Eclipse Access Floor System JS Series (Welded Steel with Lightweight Cementitious Core) – U800/U1000 or approved equivalent) PART - GENERAL 1.1 Related Documents and Submittals for Evaluation a) Product data for each type of Eclipse access flooring specified b) Shop drawings indicating the complete layout of the access floor panels, including details of adjoining work and installation tolerances Typical section plans to include details, elevation and descriptive notes of all materials, finishes and accessories c) Samples for selection and verification purposes to be submitted for Architects approval 1.2 Summary of Work Provide design services, materials, labor and equipment necessary to deliver and install all access floor systems 1.3 The contractor must provide joint indemnity with specialist for 10 years free from manufacture defects PART - PRODUCT DEFINITIONS Eclipse access floor systems consist of a portable assembly of interchangeable modular panels selected to meet specific loads supported by adjustable elevated understructures that positively locate, engage and secure the panels, forming an accessible underfloor cavity to accommodate electrical and mechanical services Finished floor height of the system above the sub-floor to be specified by the Architect or user, shall be indicated on the contract documents The required Finish Floor Height (FFH) shall be 150mm above slab level 2.1 SYSTEM SELECTIONS 335 VN 72-18 SUNNY Specifications RSP Architects Planners & lightweight concrete infill complete with a stringerless understructure system that allows free access c) Eclipse U800 floor panels, welded steel with lightweight concrete infill complete with bolted stringer understructure system 2.2 SYSTEM PERFORMANCE STANDARDS a) Tested in accordance with (CISCA) Ceiling and Interiors System Construction Associations publication under ‘Recommended Test Procedures for Access Floors’ b) System must conform to the requirements of local statutory authority and be certified accordingly Particularly the local Fire Safety Bureau’s requirements c) Other relevant standards of testing available upon request 2.3 SYSTEM PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS i) Eclipse U800 Floor Panels a) Nominal Size : 600mm x 600mm welded steel panels with lightweight concrete infill b) Panels to be easily located and removed without disturbing adjacent panels and understructure by one person using a portable lifting device and shall be interchangeable except where cut for special conditions c) Concentrated Load, the panels shall be capable of supporting a concentrated load of 3.6KN on 6.45cm² at any location with a maximum top surface deflection not to exceed 2mm after the load is removed d) Uniform Distributed Load, the panels shall be capable of supporting a uniform load of 9.6KN/m² with a maximum top surface deflection of 2mm Panel shall not exceed a permanent set of 0.5mm, after the load is removed e) Ultimate Concentrated Load, the panels shall be subjected to a safety factor of 2.5 times its concentrated load capacity Failure is defined as 336 VN 72-18 exceed not exceed 1mm for ten passes of a 275kg load g) Impact Load, panels and supporting understructure shall withstand without failure an impact load of 40kg dropped from a height of 1000mm Failure system shall have a Class A flame spread rating ii) Understructure Pedestals a) Provide manufacturers standard pedestal assembly, FFH 150~400mm, fabricated of a square base with not less than 100cm² of bearing area and assemble with a stud or tube that is designed to engage the pedestal head assembly that is made either of steel or aluminum or a combination of both When required, the head shall provide a means to fasten the floor panel or stringer directly to the head b) Provide a means of leveling and locking the pedestal assembly at a selected height, which requires deliberate action to change height setting and prevents vibrating displacement c) All steel components to be hot dip galvanized d) Axial Load, pedestals shall withstand a 22.25KN axial load without any permanent deformation Stringers (For Bolted Stringer System) a) Provide manufacturers standard steel stringer fabricated with galvanized steel forming a rigid grid to support the panel flange iii) Floor Coverings a) All surface coverings to be factory applied by the manufacturer of the access floor panels b) Adhesive – To provide and use only SLGS certified adhesive for installation of carpet tiles iv) Edge Trim a) Edge trims where specified, should be attached by the manufacturer using either mechanical method and or by adhesive onto the perimeter of each panel 338 VN 72-18 SUNNY Specifications v) RSP Architects Planners & Engineers (Vietnam) Co Ltd Accessories a) Provide manufacturers standard fascia plates, ramps, steps and panel lifting devices to ensure complete assembly of the system PART - QUALITY ASSURANCES 3.1 Ensure that all access-flooring materials are obtained from a single manufacturer to avoid incompatibility 3.2 Floor system and accessories are to be installed by an authorized representative of the manufacturer, according to manufacturer’s recommendations PART - DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING 4.1 Materials are to be delivered in access floor manufacturers original, undamaged and unopened packages, all clearly labeled with the manufacturer’s name and product identification 4.2 Materials are to be stored according to manufacturers instructions; avoid overloading building structure 4.3 Materials should be protected from staining, discoloration and damage PART - EXECUTION 5.1 INSTALLATION a) Install access floor system and accessories in accordance with the manufacturers instructions and under the supervision of the manufacturers authorized representative b) Pedestal locations shall be identified from approved shop drawings and mark onto the sub-floor so that the mechanical and electrical work can take place without interference with pedestal installation c) Whenever possible, panels should be laid out in a way that keeps the number of cut panels at the perimeter to a minimum d) No dust and debris producing operations by other trades will be permitted in areas where access floor is being installed to ensure proper bonding of pedestals to the sub-floor e) Installed access floor shall be level within plus or minus 1.5mm in 3000mm, and plus or minus 2.5mm over the entire floor area 339 VN 72-18 SUNNY Specifications RSP Architects Planners & Engineers (Vietnam) Co Ltd f) Install access floor to be rigid, firm and free of rocking, vibration, rattle, squeaks and other unacceptable performance g) After completion of
