Located in Uong Bi town in the northern province of Quang ninh, Yen Tu is a well- known fabulous mountain in Vn. Although I have been to there for many times, it has never lost its unique mystery on my eyes, which makes me want to visit and conquer it most. With altitude of 1068 m above sea level , Yen Tu is the highest mountain to the west of UB town. Seen at a distance, it looks like an elephant heading to the sea. This place has been the Buddhist capital of Vn for many centuries. The beauty of Yen Tu consists in the majesty of its mountains mingling with the ancient and solemn quietness of its pagodas, shrines and towers thus making it uniquely positioned in the hearts of the Vietnamese. What I like about Yen Tu mountain is that I can enjoy the pure atmosphere of the Buddhist land. There are many clear brooks, slowly flowing like silk bending immense green forests of ivory bamboo, fir-tree. The smell of incense from ancient pagodas as well as the twitter of a flock of birds and the murmur of brooks make all of my senses are exicted Annually, in spring, tens of thousands of pilgrims and visitors including me alike stream into Yen Tu and go on a religion pilgrimage in the midst of the mighty nature. The route of the pilgrimage from the foot of the mountain to the pagoda is nearly 30 km. The highest point of Yen Tu is Dong Pagoda. Besides, there are many other beautiful places such as Giai Oan brook, Hoa Yen pagoda, One-roof pagoda, Truc Lam Zen monastery. The journey seems to gives me the feeling of a stairway to heavens – away from worries of the world, a peace of mind and heart. Standing at the top of mountain with white clouds surrounding , I seem to be lost in nature somewhere between the sky and the earth. Passing through many times restorations, the mystery and magnificence of Yen Tu mountain remain unchanged. For me, Yen Tu is not only the focal point of Vietnamese Buddhism but also the place that brings people and nature together. . which makes me want to visit and conquer it most.
