Date: 09 / 3 / 09 Unit: Thirteen Period: 81 LESSON PLAN ***** A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: I. Knowledge: - Develop such listening micro-skills as listening for specific and detailed information. II. Skills: - Listening, Speaking B. PROCEDURE: I. Settlement (2'): Check Ss' attendance II. Checking (5'): Call on 2 Ss to act out the dialogue of the previous lesson III. New lesson: Part C: LISTENING TEACHER'S ACTIVITIES STUDENTS' ACTIVITIES I. Warm up (5'): Hangman game - Divide the class into 2 big groups and draws each of them a gallows on the board. - Explain to Ss that they are going to play a “Hangman” game. The rule is T gives a secret word and the groups will take turn to guess it by telling what letters they think there are in this word. If Ss choose a letter that appears one or more times in the secret word, the letters and their positions - Lead the game, and in this lesson, the secret word is “READING”. T draws the same number of dashes as the number of letters in this words in this words. TASK 2: - Check if Ss can do Task 2 without listening again. - Encourage Ss to read through all the passage and identify the part of speech of the word to bee filled in and if possible, predict the answers - Play the tape again for Ss to listen and complete the passage. - Get Ss to work in pairs and check their answers. T should play the tape again and pause at difficult points if many Ss cannot complete the task. - Call on some Ss to give their answers - Elicit feedback from other Ss: - Read through the statements carefully and understand them and underline key words. - Guess the answer and listen attentively. - Listen and do the task - Compares their answers with their answers - Give their answers: 1.
