WEEK 25 Date of preparing: 24/02/2017 Date of teaching: Monday, 27/02/2017 Morning: Period 2: 4A Afternoon: Period 1: 4B UNIT 14 WHAT DOES HE LOOK LIKE? Lesson Part 1, 2, I Objectives: By the end of this lesson the SS will be able to pronounce the sounds of the letters th in the words this, that, thin, thick respectively II Teaching aids: Teacher's: book, lesson plan, computer and board Students': books, notebooks III Procedure: A MAIN ACTIVITY Warm-up - Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by calling some pupils to the front of the class to sing the song What they look like? Have the class listen and clap their hands Listen and repeat - Tell the class that they are going to practise saying the questions and the answers Work - listen and follow in their book - pay attention to saying the sounds of the letter -th in red words - Listen again and repeat all the words and sentences twice Work - some ss act out in class, others observe and give comment B PRACTICE ACTIVITY Listen and tick Then write and say aloud - Tell the class that they are going to listen and practice saying the sounds of the letter th in red words Work - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen first Play the recording again for them to repeat the sentences twice - read the sentences in silence and the task Work - practise reading in groups, pairs, individually Work - some ss act out in class, others observe and give comment Key: a 2b 3a 4b Let's chant Work - read each line of the chant This is my family, (listen to the explanation of new words) - listen to the chant a few times and choral and individual repetition line by line Work - some groups chant in class, others sing along and clap hand - class sings a song again and claps their hand a few times C APPLICATION ACTIVITY - Read the chant aloud and clap the hands - What you learn about this lesson? - Date of preparing: 24/02/2017 Date of teaching: Monday, 27/02/2017 Afternoon: Period 2: 4A, Period 3:4B UNIT 14 WHAT DOES HE LOOK LIKE? Lesson Part 4, 5, I Objectives: By the end of this lesson the SS will be able to read and write and a project about appearances II Teaching aids: Teacher's: book, board, papers and lesson plan Students': books, notebooks, papers III Procedure: A MAIN ACTIVITY Warm-up - Greeting - Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson Get two groups of five pupils to go to the front of the class to say the chant This is my family Ask the rest of the class to listen and clap their hands B PRACTICE ACTIVITY Read and write Work - Get them to read the text to and answer questions - Set a time limit for them to the task independently Work 2: - leaders hold group compare the answers in pairs Work - share answer in class, give comments and correct - some pupils write the answers on the board - check and read the passage again Key: He is a teacher He is tall and slim She is beautiful Her brother is younger Marie is shorter Write - Tell the class that they are going to write about their last visit to the zoo Work - read the cues, and guide what ss have to do: write about their family (describe the appearance) - Set a time limit for them to the task individually Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary Work - leaders hold group to share the answer Work - share answer in class, give comments and correct - some pupils write the answers on the board Project Work - Ask them to think about what to say about their family members (e.g name, age, job, hobbies, appearance) Have pupils work in pairs or groups to discuss what they are going to talk about - model Work - talk with their friends Work - Call some pupils to the front of the class to the task Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary Example: This is my father His name's Long He's 34 years old He's tall He's a doctor He works in a hospital He likes swimming and playing football C APPLICATION ACTIVITY - Ask a few Ss to describe their family members to the class Then ask the class questions about these pupils' families and see if they can remember the answers - Give feedback and praise - Date of preparing: 28/02/2017 Date of teaching: Wednesday, 01/03/2017 Morning: Period 1: 4B, Period 2:4A UNIT 15 WHEN'S CHILDREN'S DAY? Lesson – Part 1,2 I Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: - use the words and phrases related to the topic Festivals - ask and answer questions about popular festivals, using When is + (festival)? It's on II Teaching aids Teacher's: student's and teacher's book, pictures, computer Students': books, notebooks, workbooks III Procedures A MAIN ACTIVITY Warm up - Spend a few minutes revising the previous unit Get some pupils to go to the front of the class to talk about their family members (e.g My mother's name is Lien She's a nurse She works in a hospital in the town She's slim and tall.) Look, listen and repeat - Tell the class that they are going to read a story about what Tony wants to in the future Work - look at the four pictures and answer the questions: Who are they? Where are they? What are they talking about? - listen to T's introduce each picture Work - Listen to the recording a few times - listen and repeat line by line - say the words in each bubble B PRACTICE ACTIVITY Point and say Work - look at the pictures and Identify the patterns to ask and answer about festivals When is + (festival)? It's on example: When's Children's Day?
