WORLD TRADE G/SG/N/1/EEC/1/Suppl.3 February 2007 ORGANIZATION (07-0524) Committee on Safeguards Original: English NOTIFICATION OF LAWS, REGULATIONS AND ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES RELATING TO SAFEGUARD MEASURES EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES Supplement The following communication, dated February 2007, is being circulated at the request of the Delegation of the European Commission _ Pursuant to Article 12.6 of the WTO Agreement on Safeguards, please find attached a notification on information received from the new Member States concerning their safeguard legislation / G/SG/N/1/EEC/1/Suppl.3 Page NOTIFICATION OF LAWS AND REGULATIONS UNDER ARTICLE 12.6 OF THE AGREEMENT ON SAFEGUARDS Since January 2007, Council Regulation (EC) No 3285/94, on the common rules on imports, applies to the new EC Member States (Republic of Bulgaria and Romania) As regards national legislation previously in force in this area, the following information was made available by the new EC Members REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA The national safeguards legislation of the Republic of Bulgaria that was notified in document G/SG/N/1/BGR/1 pursuant to Article 12.6 of the WTO Agreement on Safeguards, i.e Council of Ministers Regulation No 300 of 16 December 1996 on safeguard measures on imports of products in the Republic of Bulgaria, was repealed as of January 2007 Regulation No 281 of 20 October 2006 on repeal of Council of Ministers legislative acts was published in State Gazette No 88 on 31 October 2006 ROMANIA In accordance with Article 12.6 of the WTO Agreement on Safeguards, Romania notified the Committee on Safeguards of the full text of the Romanian Safeguards legislation in document G/SG/N/1/ROM/1 of 30 March 1995 This legislation was repealed by the Romanian Government Decision No 1900 of 22 December 2006 for repealing certain acts in the field of foreign trade, published in Monitorul Oficial al Romaniei (Official Gazette of Romania), Part I, No 1053 on 29 December 2006 ... safeguards legislation of the Republic of Bulgaria that was notified in document G/SG/N/1/BGR/1 pursuant to Article 12.6 of the WTO Agreement on Safeguards, i.e Council of Ministers Regulation No
