Racks Configuration Figure 2: Example of rack A (front view) 3BK 20464 0001 RJZZA Ed.06 / 90 General Information Figure 3: Example of extension rack B, C or D (front view) The configuration and number of racks depend on the customer options, available links / rack are shown in the table below: 10 / 90 3BK 20464 0001 RJZZA Ed.06 11 Option: Installing Alarm Cables Figure 61: Alarm inputs – 214 08117 the electrical shielding via the EMS cable clamp Place Cables in the Cable Holders Remove 25 mm of insulation (3.20 m from the connector) Fit cables through the EMS cable clamp (top of rack) Attach the cables with cable ties Run the cables to the BCLA units at the rear of the rack Connect Cables to the Racks Run Cables on the Cable Tray Connect Cables to the Alarm DDF Mark and connect the cables according to the table Tie the cables to the rack Label BSC plug position Cable reference X09 07::57BA01 214 08117 DAAA Run the cables together on the cable tray Tie the cables to the cable tray Label and cut all the cables nearly to the right length Connect the colour-coded wires to the terminal blocks (see annex) Connect the drain of the input cable to the first pair (see Figure 62 on Alcatel DDF) Connect the drain of the output cable to the frame (or to the lateral side of Alcatel terminal block) Cut the drain of the alarm input cable Cut unused wires of the cables Label the terminal blocks (Alarm input and alarm output) Connect the Jumpers to the Terminal Blocks Make and fit short jumpers on the Alcatel side of the input terminal block (see example on Alcatel DDF, in Figure 62 ) Make and fit jumpers to the customer side of the input terminal block (see example on Alcatel DDF, in Figure 62 ) 3BK 20464 0001 RJZZA Ed.06 77 / 90 11 Option: Installing Alarm Cables 78 / 90 3BK RJZZA Ed.06 79 / 90 12 Finishing Installation 12.1 Mechanical Assembly Finishing 80 / 90 3BK 20464 0001 RJZZA Ed.06 12 Finishing Installation Procedure Fit the header panels of the rack: — Position the header panel under the horizontal bar of the rack — Insert the threaded pins of the header panels in the top structure — Screw using the plastic spherical handle (tighten moderately) Assemble the racks together Fit the cross member assembly between the racks (if extension racks have to be installed) Install the front rack upper grid Assemble the top cable clamps: — Close the unused entries with dummy pieces of cable — Fit the clamp in the right position — Tighten the clamps together Install the rear rack upper grid Install the front and rear doors: — slide the bottom part of a door onto its hinge, at the bottom of the rack — pull the sliding rod (3) and install the door on the hinge (2) at the top of the rack Label the front part of the racks: — the ALCATEL logo — the name of the product 9000/1800 A9120 BSC — the number of the BSC on the site — the letter identifying the rack in the row (Example: A for BSC rack A) Even if the site already has several older generation G1-BSCs, the BSC number does not depend on the generation of the product; you cannot therefore have for example a G1-BSC number 01 and a A9120-BSC number 01 This number should be found in the site documentation A =13 mm ; B = 16 mm ; C = 13 mm Label the side panel of rack A and the rack on the right: — The ALCATEL logo in the vertical axis of the rack — The number of the BSC on the site in the vertical axis of the rack 3BK 20464 0001 RJZZA Ed.06 81 / 90 12 Finishing Installation A = 20 mm ; B = 165 mm 12.2 Finishing Close the doors Clear away packaging Clean the site Leave the rack key to
