Trang 1‘No More Mystery Meat’
The cafeteria served ‘mystery meat’ for lunch again today at least I think it was meat It was chucky and brown, coated with a yellow sauce I have seen that stuff before Sometimes the meat is served with noodles Sometimes it is baked, and sometimes it’s fried, but what it really is, remains a mystery
Now, I don’t like to complain Still it seems to me that after we have spent a long morning working math problems, and studying science, the school should at least give us something we could eat Imagine getting a slice of steaming hot pizza, covered with lots of cheese! Picture some fried chicken, or even a hotdog with all the fixings We get these types of lunch at times, but not enough
No, instead, we usually get something that doesn’t even look like food What is that tough brown stuff? All I know is that it certainly does not look like lunch to me! But it keeps showing up on our trays, and we could either choke it down or go hungry That not much of a choice
It seems like we have mystery meat at least once a week or maybe more Now that I think about it, maybe they get a truckload of the stuff and just keep serving it week after week until it is gone Unfortunately, they never seem to run out of it! They also try to disguise this mystery meat, but we always recognize it
I have a better use for mystery meat Next time it’s served, I’ll take it home to my dog Jiggs He likes chewing on old shoe leather like this!
