Prepositions By Nguyen Trung Kien http://www.ego4u.com/en/cram-up/grammar/prepositions Definition of prepositions Prepositions are a class of words that indicate relationships between nouns, pronouns and other words in a sentence Most often they come before a noun They never change their form, regardless of the case, gender etc of the word they are referring to There are about 150 prepositions in English Yet this is a very small number when you think of the thousands of other words (nouns, verbs etc) Prepositions are important words We use individual prepositions more frequently than other individual words In fact, the prepositions of, to and in are among the ten most frequent words in English Many of these prepositions have more than one meaning Please refer to a dictionary for precise meaning and usage Prepositions of time English  on Usage  days of the week  months / seasons time of day year after a certain period of time (when?)   in     at   for night for weekend a certain point of time (when?)
